Here ya go, I couldn't get a track short enough that showed the flashing, so here's a gdrive link to one I just took. Seems that the flashes directly correspond to either gun fire, explosions or crashes.

*Edit - Ew, just watched the replay and it actually looks worse on the replay than it did when I was flying, lol...

Bignewy.

A lot of players have the same thing. In addition, I noticed (and not only me) that, e.g. during a network game, the problem occurs at the same time for everyone. I guess this has nothing to do with NVidia drivers, because Radeon users have it too.

Seeing I can't see these glitches and I don't own WWII assets, here's my feeble contribution. I've made a short track showing free WWII assets exploding. Can you see these glitches when you play this track? I can't.

EDIT: added a new one, "WWII_warbirds_explode.trk". Multiple explosions guaranteed in the first 10 seconds (sill no glitch on my side).

Grahpics Card: Sapphire Radeon 5700XT Nitro+ SE

Graphics Driver: Adrenalin 2020 Edition 20.9.1 (Recommended by AMD)

I see this glitch only in correlation with explosions of aircrafts (missile hits, crash into the ground) even if the target aircraft is hitted or crashing BVR. Sometimes it's a yellow flashing, sometimes a gray/black flashing, probably caused by a corrupt rendering of explosions, flames and smoke trails of the hitted/crashing aircraft. I guess it came together with the rendering improvements of fire and smoke.

I will try to upload a track if I find one which isn't too large.

Also noticing random orange flickering as many have described. Deleted fxo and metashaders, deleted terrain shaders, and ran a repair of DCS. Running 2.5.6.57949 beta patch released today, Windows 10 update 19042 (20H2), and Nvidia driver 457.30. GTX1080. Will attach a track if I can get one.

Hi BIGNEWY,

all my relevant tracks they could show the issue are corrupt, what means, if I replaying them I am flying like an idiot and crashing into ground (nothing of this happened during the real flight). If ED wants us to send tracks to investigate issues, the tracking system should be fixed urgently.

Best regards,

Rene

I work with track replays everyday most of them work, the ones that dont are either very long multiplayer tracks, or from servers using scripts that do not function in the replay. But lets not get off topic here, keep this for the video corruption investigation

thanks

Hi Flappie,

I see a black flickering at the beginning of the track (short after some of the planes have crashed into the ground), which only affects the sky (means, the whole sky from the horizon upwards is flickering black for about one or two seconds). I see another flickering (grey in this case) when your plane flies through the smoke columns, but this flickering effects the whole cockpit (or even the whole field of view).

Best regards,

Rene

OK. I got none of this.

It would be interesting to find why some users are affected, and some others aren't.

Here are my rig and settings. My NVIDIA driver is quite dated. I'm wondering what it would look like with a recent one. I might give it a try.

The only WWII module I own is P-51D (but fly it very rarely). I see the same flickering in modern aircraft modules like F/A-18C, F-15C, F-16C, Su-33, MiG-29, Mirage 2000C and so on. I don't have a NVIDIA graphics card but an AMD card with the latest recommended driver. I saw this flickering already with the old 19.12.1 driver (maybe a little heavier), for the very first time at the beginning of September this year.

Adding to this - I get it most commonly in WW2, for me this is 100% reproducible in the Spitfire 'Fw 190 A8 Dogfight' instant action mission in The Channel, the first few frames there'll be at least one 'flash'. It gets progressively worse as time goes on, not sure of any rhyme or reason.

I've attached a short track.

I've uploaded a quick clip of what I see during that track:

You can see the first few flashes right at the start of the mission, then again it starts happening at 04:23 - captured and attached a still image.

I'm on a 2080 with the latest nvidia drivers at time of writing (457.30)

Seems to be evidence here in Hellreign's video at 2:46-2:55 though he admits overclocking (also this is after he has damaged a B17)

For what it's worth, I started noticing that glitch only after replacing some late-spring NV drivers with latest ones last week (version 457.30). Nothing in my config is overclocked. Had the yellow flashes yesterday in Bf-109 Caucasus free flight mission - strictly non-combat, with exception of some bursts fired at the ground and water to check the custom tweaks in "better smoke v8" mod by Taz. After exiting the game, purging fxo and metashaders folders, loading the game and flying the same mission again, there were no flashes anymore, but I'll try to post a track If they appear again.
