  • 3 weeks later...

Where are all virtual pilots? up to date there are ONLY 2 persons who signed in for the DCS section!!

And that is my teammate and myself!

Previous years we had up to 20 pilots in the DCS/Flamingcliffs section.

If there are no more pilots willing to join the event, then i call the Lowlandtigermeet dead:(

So please, if you have any interest, sign in!

Oh,

accidentally stumbled upon the real reason why LLTM is no longer held at Tobit. Seems they went from flightsimming to another big-boy-toy.

The real reason we aren't at tobit anymore is because of the hall where we are placed in. It was full Glass and created Havoc on the trackIR.

Too bad. I prefered the hangar, there was more of an atmosphere in there. Cold but very enjoyable. But the hall was cold too, at least first time around when there were no doors yet.

Sorry to see that the number of participants has seen better days. But that won't stop you guys from having a good time.

After the MLM (Dutch Military Aviation Museum), Hangar 23 at Tobit was the best. It was dark, had an aircraft hanging off the ceiling, and was spacious enough for the entire event.

With only two participants currently signed up, it will stop us from having a good time.

Hello all,

I think about to be a visitor at the LLTM together with my 8 year old boy. My plan was to watch some pilots flying the A-10C but as I just read the amount of participants is too low actually. Unfortunately I am not able to stay longer than half of a day not worth it to move all my stuff over to Enschede. Additionally I just started to dig deeper into the Simulation but my real life makes it hard to go straight forward in a short term. So up to now I´m only flying single player but want to take the opportunity to meet some real people and to see how they are doing the things. I hope I can arange this but it is also dependant on people flying DCS. Hope some more will join as I really like the idea of this meeting.

I´m following the LLTM since years but from the distance. Maybe I get closer by this year and could be part of it some time later. Let´s see what the future brings up.

All the best for the meeting and maybe we see us later on.

This weekend there will be a decision wether the LLTM will be canceled or not!!

Despite several attempts to recrute some virtual pilots, there are only 2 who have bought tickets!

In the previous LLTM competition we had up to 20 pilots!

i'm wondering why the lack of interrest?

Any ideas?

Too expensive , too complicated , no advertisement?

NO Advertisement??? What the hell where we shouting about for some time!

To complicated and expensive maybe, but not more complicated than flying a DCS plane.

Perhaps the distance of the location?

For me personally, I think the page was way to complicated. I still cannot find a path through it to lookup where and when LLTM2014 will be. Also, I without any background, one would think that the actual event is only a small part of your business because the side offers so much more information in its 11 categories + forum. Try to focus the page on the main topic. Provide one news line, not 4 1/2 (?) and one summary category (location + prices + ...) And please, ask a decent designer to straighten up your color scheme.

But hey, maybe its just me and my work at a web agency that made me picky :-)

Hope I could help.

Not pointing at anyone in particular (at least not my intention), but it's frustrating that after a year of preparation and asking what people want, the only response is none at all.

Especially when comments then pop up that things have been too complicated all that time, it's hard to stay polite (although I'm trying to, believe me...).

Since you're openly debating already anyways:

Finger pointing, both implicit and explicit, is a factor, too.

(I'd go into detail, but that would get me involved in it)

Please go into details as we might learn from it perhaps

Advertisement only on this forum is insufficient ; but you tried.

Anyways , it seems the LLTM 2014 is a go in a Lite version:

I really hope you guys will bring it later to a 100 + participants event ; the way it's meant to be......have fun!

I invite all to mail me (ice at lowlandtigermeet dot com) any suggestions, ideas and "whatnot" to better our "whatever" to make LLTM2014 an event where you would like to be part of.

Or as Joe Kurr suggests, post it here. No problem. Even if it become personal.

In past years the event was mostly visited by 100+ pilots.

We the LLTMCrew, would really like to know what the reason(s) are for the community to not join LLTM2014.

I don't believe that a bad design or uncertain about the ticketsystem is a reason not to join. If you really want to join LLTM2014 you would have sorted the issues.

Sorting issues is second nature to a simmer.

Definitely. But I think everyone who really wanted to join LLTM2014 and could make it is already coming. Still, you don't have enough people, so might have to focus on the lot that didn't know why to come.

I am happy that you guys are still trying to make LLTM2014 an awesome event, despite the lack of participants and the frustration that goes with it. I really hope there will be a LLTM2015 so everything you learned along the way, the contacts you got and especially the team you guys formed will not go to waste. If you do, I promise I will step forward earlier and if possible help you.

Excuse me. Shouting around is not equal to an advertisement. I think what you needed was a good "mond op mond reclame"? Sorry I don't know how to say that in proper English.

I just try to find an explanation why the LLTM not succeeded.

What and where is the best place to recrute participants for DCS/Flamingcliffs? right, just on this forum

Which we did!

There even was a "dutch" topic on the forum were we were recruiting, but no results.

It's good to have this discussion, but it's a shame we didn't had it earlier
