So basicly PTAB is HEAT and AO is anti-personnel. The number (2.5 / 1 / 10) indicates the weight of the individual submunition. So I compared this to DCS and this is what I saw: - The RBK500U that is supposed to include no less than 352 PTAB-1M only shows a few impacts - The RBK500 with 10kg submunitions is visually the same - The RBK250 with PTAB 2.5kg submunitions leaves more craters than the RBK-500U Maybe it is an effort to reduce FPS loss and the mechanics are ok? foxl Posted August 14, 2013 Share Posted August 14, 2013 Hi. I have same sort of question and done some test but on the SPPU-22-1 23mm cannon pods. I had 4 of them and fired them all simultaneously. Rate of fire is 3,400-3,600 rounds/min for one gun pod. But it seems its only the tracer rounds that hit the ground or target. There is no rounds inbetween the tracers. So very few impacts. And there is also very low spread, i would think if you fired them from an altitude of 1500-2000m down on some trucks that are not moving you would get a tremendous spread (recoil, rudder imputs etc.) and didnt have to aim super accurately? But it seems like you HAVE to hit very accurate as it is only the tracers that actually hit anything. Maybe impossible to model a such huge amount of bullets\cluster bombs? The Russian Federation claims this weapon will destroy a M-1 Abrams MBT. -ZAB-2.5SM: 5 ½ lbs, 3 ½”x5 ¼”, incendiary (3 ¾lbs combustible compound). -Unknown chemical: In October 1999, the Pentagon’s Office for Prohibition of Chemical Weapons announced that there was a RBK payload of chemically-laced flechettes.
