Are you using that, and if so are you having these random crashes?

 

Yes, I guess slmod is running on every dedicated server.

 

Our server is not yet on 1.2.6 but the logs posted by falcon/ENO looking very similar to the crashes on 1.2.5.

I can ask our admin if he could host 1.2.6 without slmod first (when server is updated).

But without we have not the same conditions because there won't be any automatic mission changes. I don't think that it makes much sense. Would be better if the tester/ED team would use slmod while MP testing.

These mods are not official mods, so I dont know that even if we tested with them that ED would do much as far as making them work. It would be up to the authors of those mods.

 

So it would be nice, even for a short time that we could try the server without the mods, even for one map rotation.

Slmod is running on mine too but it's not mission sensitive- however I was running CTTS on the one mission that crashed but not running CTTS on the other.

 

Grimes was mentioned that 1.2.6 was going to handle certain aspects of script differently (a good different) but I wonder if its current form causes instability when various functions are used.

 

I'll deactivate CTTS and see where we end up.

 

NOTE: this is not a slight on geloxo or his fantastic script! It's just as sith says a process of elimination.

I know your trying to help Sith, no arguement there.

 

I have tried Slmod in the past and had nothing but problems and speed was less then helpful.

 

But my point is that both servman and slmod are having these issues.

 

I cant do a server rotation on a never ending mission like on VA, people would end up flying in the dark...

I understand you guys are doign what you need to do till a dedicated tool can be released, but on the other side of the coin, these guys writing these tools aren't always in tune with version changes... if any of you can run a mod free night, it will be helpful I think. If you cant , I understand.

Oh I know Sith... just a mini vent. I ran another mission after my crash earlier last night and it ran fine for 15 hours or more... the only difference in the two missions was that I had the CTTS initiated in the one and not the other. I've provided a link to the tester (Cougar) that requested the mission...

 

 

Here is a tacview file from last night's crash. IT will merge with my last attached crash file / log.

Im running SLmod 7.0 only and will try it (again). If the server crashes again in the next few hours (and yes he will), i will completely deactivate SLmod 7.0.

But i really think that is not the problem...few weeks ago, i tried it already and it crashes thoug.

 

EDIT: Server crashes with "Visual C++ Runtime Error" before (just for note). After this crash now i will deactivate SLMOD 7.0 - no other Mods are still running atm. So lets try it, the Test begins now.

pman if you have time can you please save your dcs.log, DCS.crash file from the host machine after a crash before starting up the sim again (starting the sim wipes dcs.log and starts writing it again).

 

When you have three or four can you upload them somewhere and pm me a link to them please, along with a copy of the mission your running.

I posted a copy of the mission a couple of posts up.

 

No weapons and only 1 carrier and 1 destroyer ground unit wise, with no mission and they sit static

 

I will get a copy of a couple of crashes, but here is one to start you off

Alright well what if you guys remove your ban list and don't use the kick function of servman? Just a shot in the dark as it seem like people joining kicked or banned client number get to make the crash happen.

 

Anyways still looking....

Servercrash without any Mods after 1:15h Missionruntime.

So i think SLMOD 7.0 is definitely not the problem. Since DCS 1.2.6 was released i made an new clean install with the new DCS World Version.

 

But me and a few players have observed in the last few days some strange things: If the DCS World, which is running on the Host-Server, is crashing, all connected Clients got an DCS World Crash too.

 

The Crashlogs of the "Mod-Free"-Run from the Server are attached. I saved the "DCS.txt"-Log before im closing the Crash-Message.

As u can see Solex got banned for 60min as client 4 then try to rejoin but now he become client 2...at one time someone join and the new player joinand get clients 2 while probably Solex joining and getting the client 4 again but after that server crashed. That's the reason I'm supposing tht it might be a possibility. I don't know how servman store the banned person or kicked out info if it keep the client number info or not thts why I gave this shot in the dark.

I've had one crash in a 24 hour period- so I don't think it's slmod but the two missions that haven't crashed didn't have initialized scripts.

 

With that being said I'm going to read my log and see if anyone on my ban tables list tried to enter.

I've gone through my bantables as well as the log from the crash last night and none of the guys who were in the mission at that time were on my bantables. I'm using SLMOD mind you- not servman.

 

I haven't seen anything from speed on the matter but he's been pretty busy lately so I wonder if he's in the weeds right now?
