And I wouldn't mind. Last wagdate was pretty extensive and we roughly know what's coming, so 1.2.5. hotfixes would be better than anything else ;)

Agreed. My comment was in reference to Skate's comment about it being good. This one, of all the updates we have had, should hold little in the way of surprises.

A-10A and Su-25 DCS Flaming Cliffs Available for Download

Available for download are the A-10A and Su-25 as DCS Flaming Cliffs modules for DCS. Both of these modules feature:

- Detailed and accurate 3D model and animations

- Six Degrees of Freedom (6DOF) cockpit view support

- Advanced Flight Model (AFM)

- Campaign and missions

- A wide array of squadrons

- Both Simulation and Game modes

 

A-10A

The A-10A Thunderbolt II, also known as the Warthog, is a 'flying gun'. The aircraft was used extensively during Operation Desert Storm, in support of NATO operations in response to the Kosovo crisis, in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan and in Operation Iraqi Freedom. The A-10A is a highly survivable and versatile aircraft, popular with pilots for the 'get home' effectiveness. The mission of the aircraft is ground attack against tanks, armored vehicles and installations, and close air support of ground forces. The Warthog is famous for its massive 30mm cannon, but it can also be armed with Maverick guided missiles and several types of bombs and rockets.

Su-25

The Su-25 'Grach' (Rook), NATO callsign 'Frogfoot', is a dedicated attack aircraft designed for the close air support and anti-tank roles. The Su-25 has seen combat in several conflicts during its more than 25 years in service. The Su-25 combines excellent pilot protection and high speed compared to most dedicated attack aircraft. It can be armed with a variety of weapon systems including guided missiles, bombs, rockets, and its internal 30mm cannon.

 

Features:

- Detailed and accurate 3D model and animations

- Six Degrees of Freedom (6DOF) capable cockpit

- Advanced Flight Model (AFM))

- Campaign and missions

- Both Simulation and Game modes

 

New Models Coming

Our efforts to update some of the older models continues. Given the number of units in DCS, and that there are many legacy models (some dating all the way back to the original Lock On), this is a long and ongoing process. One new model that we have heard many of you asking about is the Su-33. We have also been working on a new Tu-22M2.

 

 

 

 

DCS World Coming to Steam

In the coming weeks we will be making DCS World and all the released DCS modules available on Steam. Once DCS World is installed from Steam, it will be auto-updated like all other versions of DCS World. The same will be true for all DCS modules purchased through Steam. Initially, the following titles will be available:

 

DCS World

DCS: A-10C Warthog (DLC version)

DCS: Black Shark 2

DCS: P-51D Mustang

DCS: Combined Arms

A-10A: DCS Flaming Cliffs

Su-25: DCS Flaming Cliffs

 

 

DCS: Fw 190-D9 Progress

As a companion to the DCS: P-51D Mustang, and furthering our goal to broaden the scope of DCS to include multiple eras of aviation, work has been moving forward on the DCS: Fw 190D-9. The external model of the "Dora" already appears in DCS World as an AI-only aircraft, but we are also developing the cockpit and flight dynamics to make this a player-controlled aircraft in the future.

 

 

 

Partner DCS Aircraft Updates

In parallel with our internal efforts to develop new products for DCS world, a group of partner teams have been hard at work developing their own officially licensed aircraft for DCS. Here is a little update and links to their development forum pages:

 

DCS: BAE Hawk

VEAO has been making great progress towards implementation of the various cockpit systems and they continue to make progress on the Hawk's flight dynamics.

The VEAO team has released a new promotional video of the Hawk.

Additionally, the team has released a training video of cold-starting the Hawk.

DCS: MiG-21bis

The Studio Beczl has been hard at work at achieving an outstanding level of quality for their updated MiG-21bis external model and cockpit. They also continue to refine their flight dynamics and implement their remaining cockpit systems.

 

DCS: T-2 Buckeye

RAZBAM has been making great strides towards developing much a much improved external model and cockpit for their Buckeye. At the same time, they've been doing great work towards creating their advanced flight model.

 

DCS: F-35A

Last week we saw a big update from Wags and this week has been turbulent becouse of 1.2.5 release. I do not expect a big update today. Maybe copy/paste from the newsletter.

If your email is through Comcast, they sometimes decide you don't need emails from ED. I never know what I will or won't get. Newsletters seems to be one of the things that get blocked before your email ever sees it.
