reason is very simple. The rotation of the gauges is for the pilot making him easier to read the gauges when he face an extraordinary situation.

So when everything works fine, all needles point in the same direction. This will give the pilot a homogeneous appearence when he looks at the gauges.

Since the gauges are from different manufactures the green areas are in different locations.

Occasionally, they rotated the gauges so that all the green areas are in the same direction.

Thx for explaining.

It always seemed a little odd to me that, when developping and manufacturing a completely new series of helicopters, the engineers get themselves some gauges where the numbers are oriented in the wrong direction. I guess those instruments are mostly standardized items but would it be too much of an effort to rotate the numeric indicators on the dials when they build such a thing? :)

The reason why, is caused by the planing and and projection of an aircraft. The helicopter manufacturer

doesn't develope any gauges but help themselfs by existing offers from other companies. The reason are the costs for testing and approval.

It's better to come back to existing, approved and tested gauges then developing new ones.

It also doesn't make sense to rotate the Scale, thats because the whole pointermechanic have to be rotated also.

Result: additional approval/additional costs.

Hope that helped :)

Of course, it´s about rationalisation. Perhaps I used the wrong term with "numeric indicators", which seems to refer to the whole apparatus. Simplified - I just wondered why they don´t print out a new "Ziffernblatt" with the numbers rotated to the "correct" direction and switch them. Unless this would in some way break the gauge... Don´t know how sensitive they are.

Anyway, thanks for your time. Don´t wanna keep you off your BO-105. :)

Looking Great, I cant wait for the release of this great helicopter.

Will this version be capable of carrying the minigun?

Dutch air Force used to fly these :

bo105_b-77_hangar

Any chance this could be on the skins-list?

First, I go the realistic way :). If you can provide me with the functionality of the minigun, I'll give that a go.

The BO-105 will be developed.

In my very first threat I wrote that it can be last a long time. So please, all of you, be patient ;). Thanks all.

This sounds as if your Bo-105 is not the aircraft that CTD has in mind with their poll about if they shall relase an other aircraft before their F/A-18.

Is that the case? The Bo-105 will not be published under CTD logo but will be developed by you alone, is that correct?

I don't want to put you into a catch-22 situation here, so just don't answser at all if in doubt - just pretend, you haven't read my question :o).

Update 02.04.2014

First on. If you were wondering for the lack of updates. I'm still busy doing the stuff for Coretex (for the guys who ran out of patience, check the coretex threat !!). When this is done, the

BO-105 development will continue in a regular state. Further on - I'm still waiting for additional cockpit-photos which are expected this summer from a guy who have good contacts, since the german army didn't allow me to take photos of a helicopter which is almost in the museum. :baby:

Last weekend I had time to texture the roof and the window-frames. I also baked some AO's for a more realistic effect.

Modeling ToDo's (INTERIOR MODEL)

- Rotorbrake

- 2 Cable holders

- Pilot/Co-Pilot

- Door grips

Modeling ToDo's (EXTERIOR MODEL)

-> Cockpit for the exterior model will be applied as soon as the Interior Model is done. <-

Texturing (INTERIOR MODEL)

80 % done

Texturing (EXTERIOR MODEL)

not done yet, but the unwrapping is already done :P

Thanks for the patience !
