well planned missions?

Recommended Posts

I remember reading how some people have setup large scale missions where there is all elements of DCS being used. (Huey, KA50 A10, combined arms) but I did not hear any use of FC3.

I also remember the post said how people said they were missing figther escort. I didn't really get it because I thought FC3 could be utilized, so you can actually have F15s doing that role.

Wanted to know if it's common practice in well planned, larger missions to have F15s do this role? (CAP etc)

I want to get FC3 (kind of looking forward to slightly less learning curve for some A2A/CAP fun) so I was curious....

It really depends on the mission designer. Most missions we fly in our group don't have fighter support since the guys prefer to fly the DCS-level A-10Cs, Hueys and Black Sharks. And mission balancing is quite a bit more difficult with enemy air assets.

But again, it's up to the mission designer.

Very correct!!! I used to do large scale missions with fighter escorts, however one enemy fighter with no blue escort will ruin the gameplay for the ground attack guys. This is a classic case of, "be careful what you wish for because you just might get it"

DCS is a wonderful battefield/joint fires simulator, so much so that to do it correctly you need lots of people with dedicated roles and lots of time.
