Biased poll is biased.

Yes or no only please.

Personally, I don't want civilian aircraft unless I can shoot them down... and then it's still a maybe. But I don't care a long as I get the Nevada terrain.

So if I had to vote yes or no, it would be a no.

But you forced people in my position to split our vote into 3 different categories.

This is biased and not a fair representation of the true figures.

You might as well have made the options:

Yes

No

Maybe, if I get a free car

I don't care, as long as I get a pay rise.

Remember Wags say:

DCS stands for “Digital Combat Simulator”. DCS is a world simulation engine permitting the user to operate or direct a growing number of combat and civilian aircraft, ground vehicles and ships, from different historical eras, in different geographical locations and at different levels of fidelity. It is a true "sand box" simulation. DCS started with the Ka-50 and A-10C, but has recently grown to also include the P-51D Mustang and, with Combined Arms, a ground command and control tactical warfare component. Future products from The Fighter Collection and Eagle Dynamics in the DCS line are in development and will includes partner products like the UH-1H Huey.

That response sounds biased to me... based upon your own sense of right and wrong.

I stand by my previous statement.

Also, most people who click on this link will have already have an interest in civilian aircraft.

Look at the figures

60% yes

40% other than yes (split 3 ways)

There should only be 2 options.

I don't care...just more to shoot down. its the risk of the Captain/pilot to fly an unarmed civilian a/c into a combat zone, what with AAA, SAMs, fighter jets, etc....your choice buddy.

Keep in mind though...this makes for some good riveting MP or SP missions (eg. escorting a VIP).

I'm all for including EVERYTHING in this sim. Lets not thing small, people...think BIG.

First off Howie get a sense of humor. It's a question. It is obvious that the majority of ppl answered yes. You can pick more than one answer. So you could have picked yes and that you want the Nevada terrain. It was not meant to be a totally serious poll. However, I think it's clear ppl are open to the idea. This is a flight sim period. It's just a matter of time before a civilian aircraft enters into this sim. Adding civilian flyables would add a lot to this sim. Obviously, there would servers that would not allow civilian aircraft or control the amount/ type of civilian aircraft.

I'm curious why some ppl are threated by the introduction of a civilian aircraft. It can only add to this sim. There are tons of talented ppl out there that can make this sim get better and better. If you bring the FSX crowd in eagle dynamics has cornered the sim market. Think of all the airports that ppl would make.

It would be cool if features such as escorting the civis would be available.

Ex: Civi flys in a no-fly, you scramble the F-15s, meet up with said aircraft, wiggle them wings, and lead them out. Or they have a chance of not listening, or turning hostile (as hostile as civi airplanes can be) and you have to figure out what to do with them. :)

Sounds boring to some, but I would enjoy it.

I'm an aero nerd so I just love to fly...I honestly can't recall the last time I've fired a munition in DCS, sad I know. I can spend hours happy just flying around or doing patterns (unless it's the F-15 and you can't land!)

It is always nice to have a maverick under the wing when one gets the itch though to blow stuff up :)

+1

It may be DCS digital combat simulator

but

DCS World is evolving into something much greater, an open platform for all aircraft, really looking forward to seeing DCS become so much more.

Agreed but...think about all of the time and effort that would have to go into a module that isn't even combat ready (I mean, name a civilian aircraft you would rather fly before a super charged military aircraft). DCS has pretty basic MP and SP mission parameters(like killing a certain percent of units and you pass the level) and I am not sure how well complicated mission goals could be integrated into the code.

Voted Yes but under condition that the whole world to be modeled. That can maybe interest FSX users.

I would suggest unarmed military or un aircraft taking part in humanitarian or sar or logruns etc. These could be helos. cargo aircraft and light utility aircraft (c-208 eg). These aircraft would also then need escorting from fighters or attack helos (gunships) and could turn out to be part of a joint mission success (MP).

Back in the good old days, as i still was a little girl, we chased the yak40 as a VIP plane. Times were a lot harder... We literally had nothing at disposal and yet were assigned to save the world. Sometimes twice a day... Kids these days don't know about this... We had absolutely nothing back then... But the yak40! .... Oh yes, the yak 40 was flying... In these days. You could look out of the window and there were houndreds of yak 40. But we had nothing.. Not even a charriot... All those yaks.... But it was a better time. A simpler time...

I don't see why not. The P-51 has a civilian option, and three of the four variants of our module won't be able to load a single bullet. I enjoy flying DCS for its feeling of flight and immersion that I dont get from FSX or any other sim. It is not a stretch to imagine the talented civilian aircraft developers would love to work inside DCS (due to its more open development environment) if there was only more land mass available.

I don't really care if they're flyable or not- but having the extra airframes even as AI can help to enrich the overall experience with a wide variety of missions.

I agree. More airframes is a nice option. Not that I personally want to have a Cessna module or an Airbus module, but it would be nice to have more options for AI craft.

I never played a civilian sim before, but if we get civilian aircrafts in DCS, with the complexity of the A10/KA50/P51, I would buy it.

i wont... the world is far too small for that... when you reach service ceiling you have to head back for the ground... in fsx you find guys that say goodbye to their wifes on friday evening and then do a flight hongkong and back on realtime... show me a server that doesnt crash for this long time ;-)

and you would have to rename dcs to dfs (digital flight simulator) or something like this:smartass:
