Another graphics card thread

Sorry me again.

I've been looking at graphics cards now and have almost settled on a gtx 670. I've just seen there are 2 versions, a 2gb one and a 4gb one. The 4gb one is actually slightly cheaper but not in stock. Is it worth waiting for the 4gb one? Will there be any differences of any detrimental effects?

Rather strange that the 4gb version is cheaper. Are you sure the specs are the same. Be sure of that first, I would think the GTX-670 is the best bang for the bucks right now from Nvidia, but maybe the GTX-680 soon will drop in prize. Is GTX-780 to much money for you? I gotta say my GTX-780 is just phenomenal performance wise. If you are settled for a GTX-670 and the specs and brand are the same apart from mem size i guess you would go for the 4gb. That is if you dont have to wait too long for them to get it in stock.

System spec:

Intel Core i7 920@4.2Ghz (stable, 65degC fully loaded), EVGA GTX-780, Asus P6T Deluxe V2 v.5.04 BIOS, Saitek X52, 1TB/500GB WD HD for system/storage. Kingston SSD 120 GB for DCS, 250GB Samsung 840 SSD for the rest. 16GB Kingston KHX1600C9D3 Memory, 9 GB Pagefile, EK HFX-240 Watercooling, Corsair HX-1000 PSU. HAF-932 Tower, TrackIR-5, Win64Ult

GTX 760 should come soon... :)

DCS Wishlist: 2K11 Krug SA-4 Ganef SAM, VR-TrackIR icons next to player names in score-chart

PvP: 100+ manual player-kills with Stingers on a well known dynamic campaign server - 100+ VTOL FARP landings & 125+ hours AV-8B, F-14 crew, royal dutch airforce F-16C - PvP campaigns since 2013

DCS server-admins: please adhere to a common sense gaming industry policy as most server admins throughout the industry do. (After all there's enough hostility on the internet already which really doesn't help anyone. Thanks.)

Dell Visor VR headset, Ryzen 5 5600 (6C/12T), RTX 2060 - basic DCS-community rule-of-thumb: Don't believe bad things that a PvP pilot claims about another PvP pilot without having analyzed the existing evidence

Isn't it always like that in Nvidia? :/

I thought the 7 series was just a re-branded, slightly uprated 6 series.

They are the GK104 Chips,. but they've been tweaked, and reside on a PCB with better components.

780 = GTX Titan LE GK-110

770 = GTX 680, GK104-425

760 = GTX 670, GK104-425

750 = GTX 660, GK104-425

Windows 10 Pro, Ryzen 2700X @ 4.6Ghz, 32GB DDR4-3200 GSkill (F4-3200C16D-16GTZR x2),

ASRock X470 Taichi Ultimate, XFX RX6800XT Merc 310 (RX-68XTALFD9)

3x ASUS VS248HP + Oculus HMD, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS + MFDs
