Suchacz
I suggest, that you should make two categories for Mustang: 1) standard configuration 2) without wings... :megalol: ...IMHO screenshots should be posted in F2 view, there is altitude and speed clearly visible there. And what about "Unlimited" category for top speed ever reached? Edited June 14, 2013 by Suchacz Per aspera ad astra! chev255
Brisse, sorry, you posted so many screenshots - I didn't realize you were shooting for different categories. I have fixed your scores now. :) Guys, if you have any suggestions on how to make more precise readings from the screenshots and what kinds of screenshots would make it the easiest to read indicators precisely then let me know. Forgive my ignorance, but isn't the F-15C going to win most records? Might be good to split per plane? Cheers

This is the competition and let the best one be defined! Anyway, don't say - show. 2. The DCS MOVIE information! 4. Brisse
Better not have too many categories either, that will just be confusing. Yes, the F-15C is the one to use to set speed records at the moment, but wait until someone comes along and sets a record with MIG-25 or MIG-31 :D They are flyable with some simple mods, right? Nealius
How are speeds measured? Cockpit/HUD typically (but not always) indicates CAS and F2-view indicates TAS. There's a big difference.

Nealius
Last I checked F2 was TAS. I set a tanker track to fly at 299 in the ME (which uses TAS) and when I did an F2 view of the tanker the info bar said 299. Btw, both CAS and TAS are a type of 'airspeed' ;)

Nealius
Dunno. When there is no wind, IAS and GS are almost the same... With no wind TAS and GS are the same. IAS is speed as read directly from the instrument. I'm gonna go fly and try and see how fast I can get the A-10 going :) If we use TAS for the speed, does setting options in Metric (Km/h) even matter any more since TAS is in knots either way?
