FC3 Bug thread

Sometimes (it seems consistently only when supersonic) there's a weird sound when firing missiles. Like this:

 

 

It is, I suppose, a sonic boom: Both the observer in the jet and the missile are supersonic and travelling alongside each other at some finite separation, and the observer is overtaken by the missile. So that explains the abruptness of the start of the sound, I think. However, it seems to die off as abruptly, which I think is unphysical. Also, it seems far too loud.

You can see me looking around in the video to see if it depends on head position, which is doesn't seem to.

Any ideas?

check your sound play back its either in 16 sounds or 32 its actually the rocket motors firing sound your hearing.. if your on a sound onbored chip invest into a sound card.

I don't mean to be rude, but to get a new sound card is most probably very bad advice. This is clearly a game issue, whatever it is. And I know it's the rocket engine making the sound, my issue is with how quickly it dies off, and how loud it is. You can hear the booster after the loud sound too, so there's something fishy.

Or am I missing something?

Cool video! But it doesn't sound the same, does it? Maybe I'm not making myself clear? Or perhaps I'm being stupid. I know we should hear the booster, but why is it so loud? And why does it stop so suddenly?

Roger that, as suspected. Knowing probably less than you do about the engine, I'd guess it isn't fixable. Nice to know I'm not going crazy, at least.

Meant to post this for a while now, F-15 with two wing mounted tanks shows left and centerline pylons as fuel in the cockpit. The right pylon is listed as empty.

 

I've only really flown online in 1.2.3, so I'm not completely sure if the MFD is wrong or if the problem is with assigning load outs. It happens both when I try making a load out from scratch and when loading a saved load out that worked in 1.2.2.

I agree wholeheartedly with the Su-27 TWS situation brought up by some of our guys above. In its current state it is quite broken.

 

Reported - will update bugs list accordingly.

 

 

The only other issue I can think of is lack of slewable EOS for the Flanker....

 

#97 and #98 on the bug-list.

 

 

...and perhaps a Time To Impact timer for missiles...

you mentioned the Kobra script being resolved. Can you please clarify...

 

is it now possible to activate it through control lua files? or has the maneuver been totally removed?

 

if its possible to get it activated like in FC2, can someone specify the steps needed to do that?

In certain circumstances, when landing in SMF Russian A/C, upon the initial touch down, if its a bounce the second touch would make the gear go straight through the runway resulting in instant crash and death...

 

I think there is a bug with the landing model somewhere... anyone else aware of this?

Su-27 TWS and EOS is not on the bug list. Why so if it was working closer to the real thing in FC2. I would like to know what is going on whit that since Su-27 pilots cant use TWS or EOS anymore.

 

What part of 97, 98 and 163 is unclear, keeping in mind that I have specifically confirmed that these issues are being addressed?

Here is something, I noticed some time ago. Not sure, if this is the right place to post it, but maybe someone has a better idea, if this is actually a bug, or a feature. If it's a feature, then it's something, that should be erased, cause it's a big handicap.

 

I tested this with the Su-27 and Mig-29S on the 1.2.3. version of DCS.

On the take off, on the exact moment, when you just lift of from the ground, the pull/push is locked. More specific: The aircraft follows only a certain amount of pull but then stays and locks it. If you then try to pull the stick fully back, the aircrafts will not follow this input and just keeps flying the relativly smaller amount of pull. You can see your stick in the cockpit going all the way to your belly, but the aircraft is doing nothing. After about 3 - 4 seconds, it is then possible to regain fully control of the pull and push.

 

This may be not noticable on formation take offs or combat operations, but I noticed this, flying some practice rounds of my solo aerobatic display.

 

Try it yourself and share your thoughts. I'm very curious, what is going on there. If you, for some reason, can not reproduce this situation, I can then also record a track.

TDC slew in A-10A moving random direction to begin with, is still here.

The range to lock seem too short too, but it's hard to tell when TDC moves so randomly on short moves.

The track shows basicly the first target is hard to slew and lock, the next ones go smoother because i'm inside lock range.

Used Hotas slew, saturated to 20.

Yes mate this is not exclusive to the SU-27, I've already reported it to the Devs so it should hopefully be fixed soon.
