Blaze
I think that oculus rift is still sold as development kit. I bet may of us would want to say that we tried it. Hopefully Matt and ED got one and will shine some light on DCS and RIFT They have one at the office now to play with, in case you haven't read this thread. ;) Edited September 13, 2013 by Blaze i7 7700K | 32GB RAM | GTX 1080Ti | Rift CV1 | TM Warthog | Win 10 "There will always be people with a false sense of entitlement. K2mil
They have one at the office now to play with, in case you haven't read this thread. ;) Ops ...I mised that well I hope something great will come out of testing. Hopefully I was right about holding off on buying TRI 5. But on the other hand I know that rift as DEV kit is low on resolution. 159th_Viper
They have one at the office now to play with, in case you haven't read this thread. ;) I understand that to mean 'when they have one', ie a future probable event. At present they do not have a kit and as such are just tinkering with viewport rendering etc etc. Those seriously wanting VR support: Has anybody sent a kit to ED yet? Dudester22
The only thing I hate about the rift right now is the resolution and the puke factor. I have tried to play Half life 2, a number of times now and after about 15 mins I seriously want to be sick. Does anyone know if this gets any better the more you play because I cannot stand feeling sick each time I play.
Dudester22
The short answer is 'almost'. The long answer is here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=93477 You have just taken me to the beginning of this thread and to be honest I don't want to look at 75 pages to try and find what I am looking for. I have seen a Youtube video of someone playing DCS with the Oculus Rift and just wanted to know how he was doing it.

I assume you know that you have to use the calibration tool that only TF2 has and copy the resulting values in HL2. If not, you should search how to do that. But, even then, there is one thing missing that a guy in another forum found out. Besides the values of the calibration tool you should also set vr_separation_user_inches with your IPD. HL2 is a lot easier after that.
average_pilot
is it like motion sickness? Wonder if you can take motion sickness meds to help? They are calling it simulation sickness, because is kind of the opposite to motion sickness. But the effects are exactly the same. And there is people reporting that medication for sickness works. But as anyone can suppose, if you have to medicate to use a computer device then there is a big problem with it. I've got quite used to it in a short time. Having had a z800 some years ago has helped me to some extend, because I feel very much like when I had it, but with a huge FOV that is able to trigger the 'presence' feeling, what the z800 was not capable to do by far. But still there are some demos that are able to make me feel accelerations that I'm not suffering (a really odd feeling, sort of being drunk for a few moments). And another one I tried the other day made the camera turn without control as if you were falling and I only could stand it for 3 or 4 seconds. Not a pleasant experience in this case. ED Team NineLine Posted September 13, 2013 ED Team Share Posted September 13, 2013 I know I have a friend that cant play BF3 for more than an hour or so before getting sick, so I think something like that will increase the effect on people quite a bit... interesting. We will have to see if they can come up with something to help people out with that. They are calling it simulation sickness, because is kind of the opposite to motion sickness. I have seen a Youtube video of someone playing DCS with the Oculus Rift and just wanted to know how he was doing it. Search this thread for Nthusim. I am using their HMD software with DCS and it works well with the two helicopter modules. No 3d yet unfortunately but still very immersive given the limitations of the dev kits resolution and headtracking. __________________________________________________Win 10 64bit | i7 7700k delid @ 5.1gHz | 32Gb 3466mhz TridentZ memory | Asus ROG Apex motherboard | Asus ROG Strix 1080Ti overclocked Komodosim Cyclic | C-tek anti torque pedals and collective | Warthog stick and throttle | Oculus Rift CV1 | KW-908 Jetseat | Buttkicker with Simshaker for Aviators RiftFlyer VR G-Seat project: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2733051#post2733051

I really thought people where exaggerating it, but boy was I wrong after playing Half Life 2. I am not somebody who normally suffers from any form of sickness, but I turn green playing Half Life 2 and just rush to the toilet. I really wanted to play this game and hope this IPD thing can work if someone tells me how to do it. Thanks!!
