Used Mimeo.com to print manual

Hey there. I used mimeo.com to print the a-10c flight manual. 100 lb card stock Color front page, Velo binding, 28 lb premium white paper, b&w inside.

Total of 336 double sided sheets. price with shipping to NY in USA including new customer 50% off discount was $49.88. I ordered Fri and they say I will receive bound manual by next Friday. Not a bad deal. I will post a follow up once I receive it. I have the DCS Black Shark manual and would have liked to have bought this from them but who knows when it will be available. My only concern is with the Velo binding. I chose that cause it looked nicer than using a 3 ring binder or spiral bound. If anyone has knowledge of Velo Binding please let me know your thoughts. And also velo binding with 300+ pages. Crossing my fingers. Just included this for those of us in the states who might be interested.

Sounds good and alot cheaper than one other I resently saw here. Although I think he did a higher grade manual the price still seems a bit steap at $233.00

There are 2 other items that I would include in a printed copy of the manual. The Operators Checklist 8b and the Cover art used in the Leaflet file downlaodable at the DCS Download page. Operators Checklist is a must for a new or refreshing Pilot. Well anyone actualy. Did you consider those? Still not to late.

I figured I can print smaller stuff at work on a color laser. I just hope the velo binding is good quality.

Yes.. That does make sense and savings too. I would love to see the end result. I am considering purchasing from the same vendor. Let us know how it looks when it arrives, although I am sure you were going to.

While you wait for the delivery take a look at Pete "Boomer" Bonani from Falcon 3.0s "Art of the Kill" graet BFM (Battlefield Flight Manouvers). Just added to Youtube this month.

Lol, I remember watching his training video when I purchased Falcon way back in the 90's. The training was really great. I look forward to watching it again. Thanks for the link. Makes me also nostalgic for that Falcon manual. As others have stated, that was probably the best gaming manual of any genre ever included with the software. Can't wait to see how my manual turns out and yes, I will post pics. Btw, my skill level is improving greatly thanks to youtube and the built in training. I'm so impressed with this game. I never really got this good with the black shark. Makes me want to go back and take another stab at it. I also just bought the Thrustmaster Warthog hotas and its every bit as good as it seems. Pricey, but a 'professional', quality piece of gear. With trackir, I'm in hog heaven!

Bonani was good at his game. he was like 5'7" and Balls of steal. I still have that manual as I play the BMS ver. of Falcon now along with Allied Force. You can find it on eBay every once in a while. for around #$40 US.

From reading other posts here BlackShark is easier than A10. It is more than likely your heart wasn't in it. It is a Chopper after all, If you prefer the F16,F14 or Falcon it is hard to convert.

Hey there. I received the manual on Wed. two days early. I didn't realize that one of Mimeo's printing centers is in Newark NJ, so turnaround time was shortened. I am pleased with how to manual turned out. The velo binding seems strong and I can set the manual open on its own on the table after about 20% into the manual. I will post pics when I get a chance. Its pretty thick at almost 3 inches. In the future I might have printed two volumes and spiral bound them but this is fine. I look forward to lying in bed and reading this tome. The image quality is very sharp and the borders are sufficiently wide so I have no trouble reading since I cant open the manual completely flat due to the velo binding. Well again I'll post pics as soon as I can. Happy flying.

Spiral bound as two volumes is what my plan is, after the next revision. If I print it myself, FedEx-Kinkos will bind it for about $10.

Just before before we started converting to PDF flight manuals, Our Dash 1 was broken into 2 Volumes.

Volume 1 was Aircraft, Systems descriptions, etc, Volume 2 was Operating Information. Normal, Abnormal and Emergency procedure checklists etc.

The Air refueling manual was replaced by the ATP-56 which made life easier and harder at the same time.

Nice. I see what you mean about the binding but it is still practical. I would buy one like it.

Looks good. Is that the full manual? Do you feel the binding

Will hold up?

Bindings

I am a Logistics Analyst have been for over 20yrs. There are several Process Improvement manuals I carried from job to job that have that binding, some are around 14yrs. old and still working well. Sometimes the page will come out of the binding pins but no major problems with it.

I would add Tabs to that design like the ones in the Falcon 4 manual, for Quick reference.

how much?

L'importante non è stabilire se uno ha paura o meno, è saper convivere con la propria paura e non farsi condizionare dalla stessa. Ecco, il coraggio è questo, altrimenti non è più coraggio ma incoscienza.
