OGREMAN
AB...SO...LUTELY, BLOODY SPECTACULAR IDEA The prospect of finally having a wide range of aircraft types to fly and do battle in the same environment is MORE THAN WELCOME. It would mark a (long overdue) move to the conditions that gave LOCK ON its ledgendry player appeal, longevity and status. I have long held the view that disconnected study sims (no matter how good) effectively break up the combat flight sim community into ever smaller groups, simply not a good idea in an already specialised small market. Flight sim Nirvana ..... ONE ENVIRONMENT ... wide range of "plug in" aircraft types. I hope this very tentative suggestion comes to fruition. Dudikoff
What's not to love, hmm a few things I don't like. No missiles I think they look ugly I hate WWI and WWII stuff Not modern Personally, wouldn't go that far to call them ugly (at least the WWII part :) ), but would agree that flying them in DCS doesn't seem as appealing as some later jet aircraft (or appealing at all, to be honest :) ). i386DX40@42 MHz w/i387 CP, 4 MB RAM (8*512 kB), Trident 8900C 1 MB w/16-bit RAMDAC ISA, Quantum 340 MB UDMA33, SB 16, DOS 6.22 w/QEMM + Win3.11CE, Quickshot 1btn 2axis, Numpad as hat. 2 FPH on a good day, 1 FPH avg. OGREMAN
Global map? Some tried and failed. Not entirely TRUE pilotasso ..... take a looK at OUTERRA Terrain generating engine spectacularly good global terrain that due to the fact that it runs almost entirely in the graphics card leaves the CPU free to run SIM Flight etc. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
RIPTIDE
I thought OUTERRA was more of less limited in range and wouldn't really be suitable for a flight SIM? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Kuky
I am wondering how the Nevada terrain will turn out and this new terrain engine ED are working on and wether ED will rework FC aircraft cockpit into 3D to have working shadows also... time will tell No longer active in DCS... Speacy
What are you doing? I think major part of the DCS community are waiting your DCS aircraft (realistic), for compatibility and complementarity with A-10C, FC3 is naturally not compatible with "your" description of DCS modules. I don't care to get FC3, why you are not working more on the futur "DCS" module than FC3 or your flying legend (leave that to rise of flight or cliff of dover). 1 [sIGPIC]http://355th.fr/public/style_images/Speacy.png[/sIGPIC]

Speak for yourself mate, ED can clearly handle everyone's wishes, FC3 and continuing with the next module and it is clear they've broke most expectations with the flying legends and other goodies. They are making leaps and bounds and not just small micro moves, so be patient and enjoy the ride.

Teknetinium
Hallelujah for FC3!!! I will repeat my old words. FC2 is the most realistic sim out there even thou u dont have accurate flight models the variety of different aircrafts makes the multiplayer Environment more realistic then any modern air combat sims. FC3 is very much welcomed, from my point of view FC3 will be the game that will make the Multiplayer community very pleased witch will give ED more time to develop even more accurate flight models while we are all happy:) At the moment multiplayer community are using all of FC2 potentials and a little bit more. For example Georgian multiplayer campaign would not be able to run whit out FC2, since there is not enough aircrafts in DCS at the moment to run a full scale campaign where everyone from bomber, chopper, fighter pilots can interact in same theater against each other. Witch is possible because FC2 has red and blue aircrafts witch makes the multiplayer incounters mutch more interesting and keeps the interest of the game. The point is if ED will decide to release only fighters and bombers for one side they will become no difrent from othere developers. Thank you ED. http://www.51st.org/campaign/ Jippy!!! element1108
In the past I've debated against a FC3 as to not hold up the development of DCS modules. I did end by saying that should a FC3 come about, I would be super happy. The roadmap is exciting for everybody who fly's ED products, seeing as there's no real competition I love how ED are not letting that fact keep them from pushing our expectations. Milene
O jeez im a bit worried here.... FC3 compatible with BS2 and A10? So arcade boats against sim boats.. i dont understand :( ww2 planes really? why ? Cliffs of dover and Il2 already have that area covered. I dont mind FC3 but i dont really see the connection. The ww2 thing is a waiste of precious development time on the next fixed wing thing in my opinion. Rikus
Call of Duty Yes, this start to be as Call of Duty, same game, same graphic engine, new maps, again 60 euros. Flaming Cliffs the same. Flaming Cliff 1, then FC2 to make it compatible with DCS, and now, again FC3 Spend resources in FC3 instead next DCS. I think is a fail to join FC series with DCS series. FC have advantage against DCS planes because it´s easier and quicker to fly. I think ED thinks only to make money make money since some time ago, instead to look for customers... rattler
This is a great start in the right direction and here is hoping ED will be able to continue in this direction. This is the news we have been asking for all along and glad to see ED come out with this statement. I know sometimes we give ED a hard time in the forum at times but the occasional statement from the Company is always appreciated and lays a nice foundation for us as consumers to look upon and hope they can meet their goals. Maybe every half year a statement such as this would go a long way in settling down threads that appear at times. Thank you very much ED for this informative communication and hope all goals can be meet over time. Cheers. rattler
