shu77
Instructions on setup can be found on the main thread here :) Unfortunately, Not quite what I meant, I was hoping HT would pass back input from the keyboard on a remote PC to the main sim server, but it doesnt seem to, only the mouse click generated data. I picked up a second Keyboard to use as a CDU interface using a tool called HID Macro which essentially enumerates USB devices and lets you assign different key sequences to each (i.e. turn an G keystroke into a LSHFT+LALT+G keystroke, so you can map that specific keyboard to be the CDU) It works in FSX but not in DCS because of the was it handles keyboard input. I was hoping I Could run the CDU keyboard of the HT PC and pass the keystrokes back through HT, but no joy. Not to worry, I will find a away to make it work eventually ;) Hornet, Super Carrier, Warthog & (II), Mustang, Spitfire, Albatross, Sabre, Combined Arms, FC3, Nevada, Gulf, Normandy, Syria AH-6J i9 10900K @ 5.0GHz, Gigabyte Z490 Vision G, Cooler Master ML120L, Gigabyte RTX3080 OC Gaming 10Gb, 64GB RAM, Reverb G2 @ 2480x2428, TM Warthog, Saitek pedals & throttle, DIY collective, TrackIR4, Cougar MFDs, vx3276-2k Combat Wombat's Airfield & Enroute Maps and Planning Tools
tankslapper
Is it possible to configure this software to work with the Steam version of A10? It runs OK and I can get it to display gauges, but can't figure out how to get it to read the data. I have enabled export in the .lua file, but HT doesn't recognise it as being there at all. It just says not detected.
dooom
if i dont want to use data export... does HT then function as a virtual keyboard by default a la' touchbuddy? or do i have to actually modify the xml files for it to be a keypress emulator? I installed it today and nothing was being recognized by the sim - even though i was getting the keypress audio. What am I missing? shu77
The keys probably werent configured in sim. Try configuring them b changing the binding and tapping the relevant HT profile button and then see if it works Hornet, Super Carrier, Warthog & (II), Mustang, Spitfire, Albatross, Sabre, Combined Arms, FC3, Nevada, Gulf, Normandy, Syria AH-6J i9 10900K @ 5.0GHz, Gigabyte Z490 Vision G, Cooler Master ML120L, Gigabyte RTX3080 OC Gaming 10Gb, 64GB RAM, Reverb G2 @ 2480x2428, TM Warthog, Saitek pedals & throttle, DIY collective, TrackIR4, Cougar MFDs, vx3276-2k Combat Wombat's Airfield & Enroute Maps and Planning Tools

ClearDark
I have been trying for a long time now to get someone with the Steam version to help me make it compatible. I had a conversation with one of the members here and but at the end my messages were never replied and I couldn't figure it out since I don't have the Steam release. Again, if anyone with Steam is willing to help me tackle this issue, I can even release a quick hotfix to solve this for 1.5...
tankslapper
I'd be happy to help out. PM me with what you need. I'm not a programmer, but am quite happy poking about with things. From what I can tell, the steam version appears to differ only in the location of the files. I patched my installation to the latest release simply by downloading the patch from the ED website and pointing the installer to the steam directory. CEPEGA
Now i just have to figure out how to make a custom collection of panels... I'd like the CDU and UFC on my 10" Mimo. Just copy&paste them from the "showcase profile.xml", change the scale and position coordinates and you are ready ;) That's how i made my panels collection. btw: for the UFC you need to write new key bindings in the xml file, because there all buttons are mapped to key "1" here is my UFC for example (not all buttons mapped yet) <Control> <Name>UFC</Name> A while back I tried cut & patse to make my own .xml, & always got a parser error. I tried your example above, & also got a parser error. Any help is very appreciated. Thanks, I suggest using a slightly advanced text editor such as Notepad++, using it you can make sure your XML is formatted properly. You can compare it with a working profile to see what's missing, much easier to see with syntax coloring :)

A while back I tried cut & patse to make my own .xml, & always got a parser error. I tried your example above, & also got a parser error. Any help is very appreciated. Thanks, my example don't work alone as shown here, because it's just the UFC part, not the whole .xml file ;) If you want, i'll give you the complete files of my setup. Just PM me (don't want to release the implemented fully functional MFCD's yet, because there is a little issue with the V-Rocker switches atm) There you can see how to write the xml's right. Or as ClearDark said, compare your file with a working one, "ShowcaseProfile.xml" for example, wich comes with HT 1.5 I learned the right writing from that file too. At the beginning you think "Huh, that's complicated" but after looking on it in detail you start understanding realy fast how it works. And btw if you made a mistake, Notepad++ gives you a message about what you did wrong. Asus Z97-PRO | Intel i7-4790K @ 4.00Ghz | beQuite! chokko
does the CDU plus/minus rocker work for anyone? i dont mean seeing it actually move in cockpit, but at least the keypress' sent correctly from HT15 to A10 1109 ? ive tried manually configuring the hawgtouch xml, and a10 controls ive tried using hawgtouch to send the keypress to the a10 control setup (which works), but as soon as we're in game...it is ignored. Pressing the same key combo on keyboard does work however. if you do have it working, can you post your keyboard.lua and hawgtouch profile? thankyou [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

This is due to Windows preventing lower-privileged processes to send keystrokes to higher-privileged processes. If that doesn't work, paste here your HT XML config so I can inspect it and see if there is anything configured incorrectly.

TheRat
ClearDark, you are a real hero for setting this all up, thanks! This works like a charm and as I am planning to build a home pit I got the idea that your work could enable me to connect at least the gauges hardware in the pit through the network. I'm not the pro coder so could you point me to any place where I could find a basic example source code which shows me how to receive the simulator data in the network (maybe this is a noob questions and there is a documentation somewhere)? You probably don't want to give your source code to anybody, but maybe you could cut it down so that only the send and receive part remains? But for the meantime I could help you with whichever query you might have regarding data export through networks :) That would be really perfect! It sounds like the new version is not too far away, so I'll wait for the code and bug you later if I can't get through. Currently I have no idea how to even interface with the simulator to get the data to an external module so helping me in the moment would be beginning from the stone age for you. In most cases I get along with examples and other peoples code in a mix :smilewink: VB would be best if I have the choice, but I would be thankful for anything which tells me the principle.
