I have no idea how to put an image in, sorry. I was just making a point that I did not need to, maybe you dont either if you made some adjustments?

Not sure if the latest update messed up your monitor setup LUA file but it did mine. Here is my setup for a 3 monitor setup with MFCDs on the left and right monitor.

_ = function(p) return p; end;

name = _('MFCD');

Description = 'Left MFCD on the left monitor,Right MFCD on the right and camera on the center'

Viewports =

{

Left =

{

x = 0;

y = 0;

width = 1920;

height = 1080;

viewDx = -1;

viewDy = 0;

aspect = screen.aspect / 3;

},

Center =

{

x = screen.width / 3;

y = 0;

width = 1920;

height = 1080;

viewDx = 0;

viewDy = 0;

aspect = screen.aspect / 3;

},

Right =

{

x = screen.width * 2 / 3;

y = 0;

width = 1920;

height = 1080;

viewDx = 1;

viewDy = 0;

}

}

I updated last night and went right into a multiplayer session, I did not have any issues with 2 monitors

Hi all

I'm trying to get the triple monitor setup to a point where it doesn't drop in FPS too low. I'm getting it dropping to single digits when doing hard turns, and around 30-40 normally.

What resolution/settings should I be having, or do you have, that keeps FPS up ok?

I'm running:

- GTX980

- Intel i5-4690 CPU @3.5GHz

- 16GB ram

- 250GB SSD

- main monitor is a Dell P2414H (connected via Display Port)

- side monitors are Dell P2214H (connected via Display Port)

PC settings:

I'm running NVIDIA surround off, all 3 monitors set to 1920 x 1080.

DCS ingame specs:

- 5760 * 1080

- all textures, water, etc to max settings

- cockpit resolution 1024 every frame

- MSAA to 165x

- Depth of field to Bokeh

- HDR on

- Clutter/Grass to max 1500

- Tress to just under mid at 9000

- preload radius to under mid at 60000

- vsync on, full screen on

So I'm curious to see what I can change to keep FPS up and not reduce the graphics where it counts.

My specs:

- GTX980

- Intel i5-4690 CPU @3.5GHz

- 16GB ram

- 250GB SSD, plus 2 x 2TB HDD

- Acer X34

- Saitek HOTAS X55

Yeah I've just moved from one monitor to three, and trying to work out what settings I should be using...

So DOF to Simple? or OFF? I don't know what it should be at.

What would you suggest?

Change it to the 1 camera setting. The 3 camera setting looks a bit nicer but it renders everything three times which will kill frame rates on pretty much any machine.

By Camera I assume you mean the "1 screen" option in settings rather than "3 screens" ? This certainly lost alot of graphic quality :(

I've attached the current setup I'm running. Getting about 35 FPS at present but that's before i get up and start flying around and putting load on it.

I'm running four 1920x1080 as three surround and one below for instruments on a GTX980 (see sig).

Like you I prefer 3 screens to the stretchy 1 screen. My settings are attached. I get around 20 fps on ground and 30-60 in the air. Yes the ground and large towns are a pain down low but try them and see how you get on. I'm running about 8 megapixels, you're running about 6.

I have found Water, Shadows, Clutter/Grass and Trees to be big hitters.

I have read though most of this thread, I have searched the whole forum, but I haven't found if there is a way to change the angle of the side screens in a 3 screen configuration.

I have 3 screens (5760x1200 with nvidia surround), and it works very well in iracing, selecting 3 screens and then putting the angle of the screens, there is an option in that racing simulator. But here, you get nothing, it's 90º or bust. And 1 screen just plain sucks.

Do you know any way to modify the lua file to change the angle of the side screens?

Thanks.

I don't know of any way. I can only say that with 3 x 27" screens about 70cm from my eyes I get a quite good wrap around effect and I don't really notice the '90 degree' effect, it all seems pretty normal to me especially with TrackIR.

it's 90º or bust..

not quite sure what it is you're implying but in your

"..\Saved Games\DCS\Config\View\SnapViews.lua"

you can experiment with {--default view FOV:

..

SnapViews["A-10C"] = {

..

[13] = {--default view

viewAngle = 133.292252,--FOV

..

perhaps you have to put SnapViews = on somewhere (forgot exactly how)

Function to change view angle/rotate screen in viewport lua files (monitor setup)

(after talking with developers)

viewRoll = [absolute angle in degrees]

Should be able to add this line into any viewport parameters. I found this useful to rotate viewports to match monitor alignment:

So, I have 2 lilliputs for MFDs, and a single monitor. I was playing some other games for a while, and was leaving my lilliputs turned off to take it easy on my old graphics card, and just playing DCS without MFD output.

I just tried turning them back on and playing with them in DCS, and no-go, DCS wasn't recognizing them (Windows does just fine). So I presumed that in one of the latest updates, something got scrubbed. So I have re-edited my monitor luas, and DCS refused to recognize an edited lua either in the game directory, or in the saved game directories. In fact, in an attempt to force DCS to recognize an edited lua, I deleted all the unused stock monitor config luas, and now the drop-down in the settings menu displays no options ;)

So, since I haven't seen any threads about loss of MFD export capability, I assume I have an unusual situation. UltraMFCD does work for me, but I can't size the output to my liking, and was hoping to recover my earlier ability to directly export to the size I prefer.

Any ideas?

I am running a 2560x1440 main display with the 2 lilliputs underneath it. If anyone has the appropriate luas at hand, or anything similiar, I wouldn't mind trying a straight copy/paste, although I doubt my DCS is going to accept them. I tried manually editing options.lua to accept the monitor configs but DCS laughed at my feeble attempt.

p.s. I used Notepad++

P.P.S. fixed it, total screen size in the game settings menu had reverted, and changes to options.lua didn't stick unless modified in-game. I guess DCS wouldn't recognize any modified lua that had what appeared to be, or was, a syntactic mistake. Or in this case, absolute x/y coords that were out of bounds of the screen size.

i've had to reinstall this game and lost my customised 3 camera file... I'm running 3 x 1920x1080 monitor and trying to get it working on 3 cameras.

If someone had their 3camera.lua file you could post so i can download it that'd be great.

Your aspect ratio is wrong because it should be 'per screen'.

Try 1920/1080 = 1.7777

@jaznitt it should do for you tooCopy/paste into a new 3Screen.txt file then rename it as 3Screen.lua
