Yet another proof for your dedication to the DCS-Community!

Nice package, thanks for sharing!

Personally, I don't like most sounds in ArmA2, though the engine compensates for many things. For me, most sounds are too high pitched in OPF1, Arma1&2 and some just don't fit with my personal experience.

E.g. the rotorsounds should have a much lower frequency in the cockpit and the engine/gears should be louder compared to the rotor-sound. The rocket-sound is that from a missile launched off the ground. It should fade off MUCH faster for an airborne fired rocket or fast A2G missile. But well, that's just my personal opinion. ;)

That's right - because BlackShark is using the same soundfile for it.

The same problem for all the guns, all the wheeled vehicles and all tanks.

BlackShark is using the same soundfile for similar things.

... but why you noticed this only now in the mod? It is the same for the original sound of BS.

Well the mod is a purely matter of taste. :smartass:

I didn't notice it just yet. :smilewink:

It's just a question of perspective. IMHO the problem with ArmA is, that it's from the infantry-man's point of view, while DCS is from the aviators point of view. ;)

So instead of using a sound from a surface-launched missile for my rockets that I will hear all the time, I'd prefer to have SAMs use my rockets-sound, because I will rarely if ever be close enough to *hear* a MANPAD/SAM/TOW/MRLS firing at me ;)

Doesn't change the fact that it's a good mod and a lot of work and dedication.

Not just the helicopter flight dynamics. I was greatly amused by the video of a backwards-landing C130. :D

Awesome sounds!

I did some little tuning on the cockpit and rotor sounds.

You can download the tweak here: Deleted

[EDIT]

HokumSounds_v1

Features:

- Replaces the Ka-50 rotor and engine sounds.

- Sound.cfg has been tweaked.

The "HokumSounds" are tested in "DCS: Black Shark 1.0.1c" and can be installed with ModMan 7 or replaced by hand.

Version 2.1 released

I have edited the Config/autoexec.cfg and added it into the mod.

Now the low-pass-filter is less effective so you can hear the external sounds again.

More about it.

There is some way to mute the engine sound (like the option in the 1.0/1.01 preferances) after the 1.02 patch the engine/rotor sound is way to loud, it masks almost everything, including Teamspeak!

This depends on your hardware. I know this problem. Now for my ears it sounds ok.

If for you not, please open the \Sounds\Effects\RotorKa50.wav with a soundeditor (Audacity.de) and turn down the volume (ca. -5 DB).
