Yskonyn
First my system specs: P4 2.4Ghz, 512MB DDR, Geforce 4 Ti4200 128MB with 71.81 drivers, DirectX 9.0c, Windows XP Pro SP2, 16GB free on HDD after install. I have graphic anomalies in-game (see attached pictures). The heat blur is shown as a black blurry smokey kinda thing behind the airplane, the lighting of the afterburners don't show correctly and some patches in the terrain have weird colors. Lomac 1.0 and 1.02 did not have these problems on my exact same system (except driver version was lower of my vidcard). Is this a confirmed driver issue or has there gone something wrong with my install? Many thanks! Merlin
Try going back to an older driver(the one you had) and see what happens
ED Team Chizh Posted April 8, 2005 ED Team Share Posted April 8, 2005 That graphic anomalies can appear after task switches via ALT-TAB. Please try switch off the fullscreen mode. In window mode the OS haven't reallocated RAM therefore less the chance of those anomalies. Yskonyn
I have tried the windowed mode, but those same anomalies show up. I haven't tasked switched, but I did see anomalies of another kind (complete missing parts of the SU-25T for example) when I did before. These anomalies, however, seem to be driver related then? (I haven''t tried a roll back yet) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Asus Z390-E, 32GB Crucial Ballistix 2400Mhz, Intel i7 9700K 5.0Ghz, Asus GTX1080 8GB, SoundBlaster AE-5, G15, Streamdeck, DSD Flight, TM Warthog, VirPil BRD, MFG Crosswind CAM5, TrackIR 5, KW-908 Jetseat, Win 10 64-bit ”Pilots do not get paid for what they do daily, but they get paid for what they are capable of doing. coldcrew
turn heat blur off. I had so many anomalies in 1.02 when it was enabled. Texture ripping, flashing water, multicolored wire frames, hard frame rate drops when looking at certain planes. All of them went away with heat blur disabled. Yskonyn
I had similar problems years back (with strange texture all over airplanes) with Jane's USAF running on a Voodoo 2. It was due to overheating of the vidcard. Did you check your temperature? It could be a similar problem I am having at this moment though; driver bug perhaps (refering to pics above). I will try my old 5x.xx drivers tonight and post what gives... bflagg
I did to, but I seem to remember it was everything, not skin specific... Thanks, Brett
Yskonyn
Whoa! I reverted back to my old trusted Asus 56.72 drivers (based on nvidia's 56.72 ref drivers of course) and see what happened (see pics)!! I even get less stuttering, it seems, at low altitude! Correct heat blur graphics, no more weird landscape tiles and correct afterburner lighting! Yskonyn
Ok, I've upgraded my system and now my vicard is an Asus N6600GT which cannot use the 56.72 drivers, so I am back at the other ones again... they do give me the exact same artifacts as I got with the Ti4200! Does anyone know a working driver set for my new 6000GT card? First before installing newer drivers, make sure you use driver cleaner to clean out the old .inf files and so on. then you will be ok to install newer drivers from nvidia I used version 76.41 from Guru3d.com http://www.drivercleaner.net/ http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=1022 http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_71.89.html
