Havremonster
After todays update I got very unstable FPS. In Syria map flying the Huey, I can go from above 100 FPS and suddently down to 14 FPS. My rig: i9 9900k RTX 3070 RAM 32 gb
Raven434th
I've noticed this also...drops for no foreseeable reason. frames are better than previous patch but are not stable...example...takeoff at 30fps...landing and 20 fps at same airport in same direction. Why a 10 fps difference? Cruising along at altitude it jumps from mid 20s to 40's.What would cause such a difference? Flappie
Rename your "Saved Games/DCS.../Scripts/Export.lua" file so DCS cannot find it. Then give DCS another try. Raven434th
I will do this and report back...I also noticed that there are no meta shader files in the folder(I had cleaned out both fxo and meta upon patching) but I assumed a "fresh" meta file set would appear...would I be correct in thinking this? Flappie
For some months now, files in metashaders2 are not always generated. I don't know the logic of it. It seems some modules produce files in that folder, while some others don't. I don't think this is an issue by the way. Things changed, that's all. Raven434th
unfortunately by doing this my progress in my campaign is lost and that was my benchmark for my previous post...I even copied the missions folder back into the new save folder ...what files do I copy to regain that progress save so I can continue the test comparison? edit Oh wait...my mistake...I see I don't have to do the whole save folder reset....will try again Edited December 23, 2021 by Raven434th MODUALS OWNED AH-64D APACHE, Ka-50, UH-1H, Mi-8MTV2, Mi-24,Gazelle, FC3, A-10C, A-10CII, Mirage 2000C, F-14 TOMCAT, F/A-18C HORNET, F-16C VIPER, AV-8B/NA, F-15 E, F-4 Phantom, MiG-21Bis, L-39, F-5E, AJS 37 Viggen, MiG-19, F-86, MiG-15Bis, Spitfire IX, Bf-109K, Fw-190D, P-51D, CA, SYRIA, NEVADA, NORMANDY, PERSIAN GULF, MARIANA ISLANDS,SUPER CARRIER, WORLD WAR II ASSETS PACK, HAWK T1 SYSTEM SPECS AMD 7600X 4.7 Ghz CPU , MSI RX 6750 12 gig GPU ,32 gig ram on Win11 64bit. Flappie
It's OK. It's an optional file useful for mods. I was thinking you had an issue with a mod such as Tacview or DCS-BIOS. Then I have no idea what's happening to your DCS. Have you already added your main DCS folder as an exception to your antivirus? If not, it's worth a try. Havremonster
Yesterday I upgraded from 32 gb to 64 gb RAM for to eliminate the "one second stops" in the game. Still I can go from above 100 FPS and suddently down to 14 FPS and up again. I did not exspect more FPS but the "one second stops" was almost eliminated as I was hoping for. I opened task manager to see how much RAM it use when playing, and it is all up to at least 40gb ram used sometimes! i9 9900K, RTX 3070, 64 gb RAM, SSD disk Sorry for my bad english Edited December 29, 2021 by Havremonster
Flappie
OK, so it seems the RAM upgrade didn't fix your issue. Your FPS drop is most probably caused by some software. It could be a DCS mod or an external process. You should monitor your PC using Windows Resource Monitor. See what files are being accessed when the drop happens, or which process is draining CPU power. Don't accept indie game testing requests from friends in Discord. Ever. Havremonster
Yes it DID fix the biggest issue. The "one second stops" that comes sometimes every ten or fifteen seconds I use no mods. Only running DCS and no other programs. This things happened lately. Maybe after the last update. Have also rolled back the Nvidia driver because the last one made problems in other games for a lot of people.
Flappie
Ah, great! About your FPS drops, please give Windows Resource Monitor a try. It comes with Windows, and has plenty of tabs (drives, CPU, RAM, network...). Let it run in the background, play, and as soon as you get this violent FPS drop, Alt+Tab and see if you can find something in the Resource Monitor.
