If anyone wants a interim solution, Shturm takes 12.5 second average to reach 5km and Ataka takes 15.5 second average to reach 6km. I have a button on my HOTAS set to stopwatch, the ATGM battery runs out at 17 seconds. So if it’s been longer then 17 seconds since firing, you can be certain missile is no longer guiding

For myself it's not a question of is it still guiding. It's did I hit that tank? Petrovitch has a nice magnified optic he should  be able  to tell much sooner if the missle hit or not. Or if the target is destroyed or not. It's pretty crucial  info when you're driving  into an ever more dangerous  environment. Having a target  destroyed  call out would let me make the decision  to pull off or press the attack  that much sooner.

I'll try that! Thanks for the tip.

Saturday on Alpenwolf Cold War Server I made a long shot at an incoming A-10 and was wondering if there would be enough battery time. It was enough. 😏

Also, my numbers are Dow on the deck launch at very low speed. You can view these numbers as worst case scenario.

Even Shturm can hit a man aplroaching plane target at 7 km, with Ataka firing on approaching jet, you may be able to fire near max lock on range

+1

+  Petrovich could warn if he is seeing missile trails coming towards the helicopter.
