By the time they’re done fixing your VP2 you might already be using the Aero 🙂

Lol yeah quite possible.

Now I'm curious if I have the same issue.

At first, I thought it was just DCS, but now I'm seeing I can't play any VR game. Steam VR home is perfect, 3ms frametimes, or less.

Beatsaber menus? Flawless.

Beatsaber game? 20+ms frametimes

Dcs is the same. Totally unplayable in games. Dunno if its steamVR, vive console, or something else....it all worked flawlessly a couple weeks ago.

Don, I sympathise.  I am having issues with my VP2 as well.  In my case, I am getting regular Bluetooth connection errors. Vive support - who are very slow to respond - are suggesting it might be the Link box, so I'm trying to get that exchanged.

I found their support on my end to be pretty decent so far.

Hopefully Fed Ex will be delivering the unit to their service center in Seattle sometime today. Will be interesting to see how it progresses once they have the unit.

Sounds just like the issue I have with it. In just Steam VR Home all appears well, launch any game though and it turned into a shaky stuttery slide show. Both my Index and my Reverb G2 run great so I don't think it was Steam VR issue.

Mine has to go to Romania, and with all the hassles that Brexit has caused, this could mean I am without VR for quite a long time!

Shipping has been crazy lately across the board. Hope it arrives quickly.

My issue was slightly different than yours, as it effected both VR and non VR games, so wasn't headset specific.

Thanks - Yeah that does sound a little different.

It seems I’m the lucky one with no significant issues so far?  I did have vertical scan line but this has been fixed since the past few firmware update.  My problem with motion compensation causing gel-like artifacts has also been fixed.  Fingers crossed.  In Toms Hardware comparison review, they saw better fps from the VP2 compared to the Varjo Aero in most games but I’m probably going to sell this headset once I get the Aero.

PC: 5800X3D/4090, 11700K/3090, 9900K/2080Ti.

Joystick bases: TMW, VPC WarBRD, MT50CM2, VKB GFII, FSSB R3L

Joystick grips: TM (Warthog, F/A-18C), Realsimulator (F-16SGRH, F-18CGRH), VKB (Kosmosima LH, MCG, MCG Pro), VPC MongoosT50-CM2

Throttles: TMW, Winwing Super Taurus, Logitech Throttle Quadrant, Realsimulator Throttle (soon)

VR: HTC Vive/Pro, Oculus Rift/Quest 2, Valve Index, Varjo Aero, https://forum.dcs.world/topic/300065-varjo-aero-general-guide-for-new-owners/

Yeah I was feeling the same way about my Vive Pro 2 until this happened to me. Hopefully they will get it sorted whenever they do eventually receive it. Personally I think it may be a cable issue but who knows, I am certainly no technician.  But I am sure glad I did not sell the Index or Reverb G2 yet as I am making good use of both of them again while the VP2 is away.

Edit: Well this is weird - just checked tracking and whilst it still says delayed and anticipated delivery the 18th, it also shows on Fed Ex vehicle for delivery - left Auburn WA this morning and Seattle is only 31 miles away.

So who knows maybe HTC will receive it today lol.

And today got notice HTC has shipped the headset back to me via Fed EX. Tracking shows it should arrive the 23rd. Repair ticket tells me absolutely nothing other than they received the headset yesterday and shipped back out today. So no idea if they did a repair, a replace, or anything at all. Guess I will find out when it arrives back to me on the 23rd.

Well that's a fast turn around at least! I Am glad to know as an owner of a Vive pro 2 also they are quick. I have just upgraded my computer and am going through some settings. Is there a good setup guide for those of us with the Vive?

Yeah while I don't know this I have a hunch they may have just sent me a replacement headset cause it was so fast. The ticket never really showed it as being repaired, or being diagnose. It went straight from being received to being shipped back out the next day.

Course shipping times are a bummer, 14 days overall to get it there and back.

Just had another look at my correspondence from HTC. The email I got from support stating the device is preparing to be returned to me also included a serial number. Different from the serial number I had listed for the ticket - but close. Last four I had for the headset I sent them was 0523, last four listed on the return coming back to me is 0623.  All other numbers identical. So could be a different headset, or could be just a typo and same headset.

In other words I still have no idea LOL.

Well I emailed support back from my support ticket correspondence asking the question. Support advised me just to check the serial number when it arrives, if it is different it was a replacement, if same it was repaired.

So still not quite sure as the two serial numbers are so close together. But based on that and the very quick turnaround ( practically same day) I am going with it is likely a replacement and coincidence the serials are so close.  I will know for sure when it finally arrives on the 23rd. I just find it a little strange my support ticket did not reflect what was actually done - it would have been nice if it did.

Just got an update from Fed Ex seems my Vive Pro 2 is now scheduled for delivery tomorrow rather than Tuesday.

Yay! Really anxious to find out what they did.

Ok so just got home from Church and had a Vive Pro 2 sitting on my doorstep.

Seems they must have sent me a replacement unit, this one has earphones attached along with a cable and face gasket. The one I sent in had neither, no headphones and no cable or face gasket.

Also just checked and it is a totally different serial number.

I figured that would likely be the case as they really did not have it but one day and nothing noted on support ticket about a repair.

Now to test this puppy out.

I have to give big Kudos to HTC on this one, from dealing with their support on the ticket to getting this replacement unit in return with such a quick turn around with a new cable as well. They did a really good job for me on this one!

It's nice that they actually sent you a new headset.  Now time to help me test the FSR mod 🙂
