Default Head Position (VR)

Recommended Posts

So this at least applies to VR but I assume it will be the same for flat screens.

When I look down at the seat it looks to me as if the default head position is just a few cm far to the left of where it should be.

I will grab a few screenshots of this when I get the chance.

You can see the seat is clearly not centred....

Good catch. Note that for a temporary work-around you can change this yourself in the snapviews.lua file. (You need to save the snapviews first in the Mosquito to create the section in the file (RAlt+Num0). Good idea to disable TrackIR before you do so nothing moves from the default positions before you save them.)

It's not only to far to the side, it's also to far back.

Look into your crotch. Your line of sight would be more on the front edge of your seat, not at the back.

You can adjust that luckily.

Does the RALT+Num0 Snapview save work for anyone? It works on other modules but it doesn't work for me in the Mossie.

You can edit the snapview.lua by hand. iirc, it worked for me, but since I manage all my default views by hand anyway, it doesn't matter.

look here for details:

I'm finding the same problem, the default head position is to high and to the left, also to far back. My head is going through the pilots head rest and preventing me seeing the cockpit dials and front view and when I switch to the navigators view it's well screwed and I can't see the fuel valves. It's fine in all my other aircraft. I use track hat and a 2d screen , not a fan of vr can't stand a box being fixed to my face.

Do You use JSGME? The best way in MODS JSGME folder + activate it (so you don't write any original files). That all.

Folder of JSGME for mods is only one and you decided where is it (when you create it, I have it in DCS directory for example, but you can have it on another disc). If you dont want to use JSGME you can overwrite views.lua in main directory of DCS.

Thanks, I manage both my saved games and Mai game directories with my mod manager, so my target is main games directory.

Hi YoYo, can you tell where to alter the VR views,  which part of the lua alters the view, I I use your Mossie one, id like to try this with the Apache CPG and move his incorrect VR view to the right as ED only seem to correct the fwd or back position so far.

I dont remember now but if you need it I did this view mod for Mosquito, JSGME Ready, so you can check this file and compare with the orginal one.
