Loading time increased exponentially since last update.....

Recommended Posts

Anyone know why since this October update it is taking upwards of 10 mins to load the game in?

I have never had an issue before now, i clicked the dcs shortcut at 12:20 today, it is still loading and its 12:30?

Might be I have some slower load times, but I haven't really noticed.
One thing I do though. I use a realtime log viewer for monitoring the DCS.log. I currently use Baretail free (the MS one from MS SCCM is decent as well), and I can see that the sounds for the Tomcat takes 2 minutes to load on my system, while any other module takes less than a second.
Have a look in the log file, and maybe you can pinpoint what's taking long times or where it hangs.
Cheers!

If you fly a new map and module, or have removed your shader cache, loading shaders the first time takes a looong time. After that, it should be rather quick though.

I have the sim on a SSD and it's rather ok. Compared to MSFS2020, DCS is lightning quick in comparison.
