Hello.

I am studying the possibility of using commercially available simulators for use as training platforms for some military training.

Since this is the biguest military aviation simulation community i know, i was wondering if someone knows about previous studies about this topic, and could help me go in the right direction.

Thankyou in advance.

Short version, the USAF has converted the Colorado campus over to VR gaming pcs. So, yes, simulators are increasingly being used to supplement the real thing, and many of these simulators are directly ir indirectly based off DCS. The Russian air force recently showed off a simulator that was VERY obviously using the DCS Caucasus assets.

Thank you all.

I am a Portuguese Air Force pilot.

At the moment i am doing a paper as a mandatory assignment.

The topic is at my discretion.

Any information on the topic is a good lead for further investigation.

Thank you all again.

Ramos,

I will PM you, I work at Cranfield University and we have a Centre for Simulation and Analytics.  They run the simulation and synthetic environment laboratory at the Defence Capability Centre (DCC) at Shrivenham, which does pretty much what you are asking about.  I will send the link to their page they might be able to help.
