Cockpit reflection fix for Su-25(A) and Su-25T

Recommended Posts

The awful, pixelated, and completely unrealistic cockpit reflections in the Su-25(A) and Su-25T have bothered a lot of people including myself, so I went ahead and fixed it.

Here's the Su-25 (Su-25"A" to avoid confusion):

Su-25A-comparison.jpg

Here's the file:

Su-25A reflection fix.zip

And here's the Su-25T:

Su-25T-comparison.jpg

Here's the file:

Su-25T reflection fix.zip

Installation instructions for both files:

Drag the "mods" folder in the archive to your DCS installation directory.

Enjoy being able to clearly see through the cockpit glass!

I've been begging the devs on discord for ages for this.

Thank you sir, you made my day!

Does it have to be placed in the game root folder or is there a way to make it work in the savedgames folder?
Just to prevent it being overwritten every time the game updates/repairs.

I don't think it should be deleted with updates/repairs because it's outside the .zip file.

I haven't tested it, but I think that's the case.

@Sérvalpilot

Hey, thanks man.

Su25 fix works just fine.

Su 25T - seems like there's wrong directory path. Anyway i made it work when place your file "SU25T-CPT-CNPGLASS_RoughMet.dds" into "SU-25T-CPT-TEXTURES.zip" package.

Which is located here DCS World\Mods\aircraft\Su-25T\Cockpit\Textures

Excellent, thanks for this! People have wanted this for a long time!

You should add to the user files section on the DCS site.

Just some small changed needed -  like @Kaplan mentioned, the "Cockpit" folder is missing from the Su-25T path. Once the cockpit folder is added to be similar to the path used by the Su-25A, this fully works with JSGME mod manager. I've attached my folder structure from JSGME if it helps.

_JSGME_MODS.zip

I tested in the Saved Games folder just to see if that works too but unfortunately not, it has to go in the main game folder.

Also tested MP on a full integrity check server - it passes thankfully!

Please could you give us some fixes to other AC like F-16 or F-18? thanks

I didn't think these were that bad?

For some I do find the scratches a bit overdone when you zoom in though (like the F-5)

Is it just me or is a "tinted" effect put on the windows from this? It makes low light and night flying a bit harder.

I noticed as well but assumed it was already there before? I haven't flown the old T for a while because of the reflections.

  • 3 weeks later...

Thanks for this! Added them in my mod manager, but also "tweaked" the Su-25 version to support it as well as FC3. Just made a new folder in the mod.
Would you mind explaining how to do this, so one can do it for the rest of the FC3 pack?
Cheers!
