Reverb G2 - Erratic mouse control

Recommended Posts

Hi!

I've recently got my new G2 and am gradually navigating my way through the oddities of WMR and SteamVR. However, there is one issue I cannot seem to solve...

When in DCS, control of the mouse pointer both in the UI and cockpit is really 'sticky'. By this I mean that the pointer on the screen feels stuck to the spot unless I move the mouse faster. If I move the mouse slowly, the pointer doesn't move. Sometimes, it's only in one plain, i.e. vertical movement works fine but horizontal movement is sticky. Sometimes, it's the other way around.

This is making accurate control of cockpit switches and using the mission editor very difficult.

Is this problem unique to me?

Cheers!

Not a problem I have, or seen, does it also happen in dcs in2d?

Just to make sure the basics are covered, do you guys having this problem have the "use mouse" box checked on the VR tab in DCS?

 Certainly "yes" from my end.

No, 2d is fine, as is my Rift S. The problem only occurs with the G2/WMR/SVR

No, none at all. Clean installation of DCS Open Beta

Hi @speed-of-heat. Yes, the mouse 'white dot' in the UI and the mouse pointer within the cockpit do move provided that I move the physical mouse on my desktop fast enough. So,  moving the pointer around the screen isn't a problem. However, when trying to make smaller movements, such as selecting individual switches, or menu items within the UI, it sticks UNLESS I move the physical mouse faster. It's as if the physical mouse movement on my desk is being ignored until the physical mouse reaches a certain minimum velocity, at which point the pointer on the screen responds.

It's tricky to describe without being able to actually show you!

Probably first thing I would try is a Repair of DCS.

Is your mouse wired or bluetooth?

Do you have controllers enabled?

Have you got any other VRglove style app running?

in windows / Mouse properties / pointer options:  Is 'snap to' unticked?

Maybe try to disable Hotplug in DCS settings. I think that’s what it’s called not on my rig at the moment.

That's an interesting thought on Oculus.  Chief, do you have your Oculus software disabled so it doesn't automatically start when you go into VR?

Hi, yes. I have completely uninstalled Oculus.

Already done that. Hasn't helped 😞

It's a wired mouse and I have no other VR related stuff installed or running. Besides, it isn't a fundamental mouse problem as it only current occurs in VR using my G2. All other scenarios are fine.

Maybe try to clear/reset your environment in WMR and retest. Maybe some kind of weird glitch or something.

* FIXED *

Right... I've fixed it and the answer was simple: I changed the WMR/Display Input setting to Manual and that was that.

Thanks to everyone for their replies 🙂
