Then please explain this and it's numerous people btw.. why so quick to blame my pc... I can run Syria just fine.. but here explain this WOW just tried out the new map, I have gone down to 20FPS over most of the map with my current settings that give me a smooth 45fps with re projection enabled on Syria, Navada and PG, this is with a 3090, i9 10850K and 64gig ram. My rig is heavily tweeked for DCS with the V4DCS guides.

 

and there's numerous people reporting same thing with high end rigs... pretty shameful to say it's peoples pc's when it's clear as day there is an optimization issue here... any coder could tell you that at first glance. Not trying to be rude but seems like a scape goat rather than taking the issue serious and investigating... ms fs2020 almost failed on launch due to optimization issues did they blame peoples pc's nope they fixed the problem.

you also failed to explain why mariana's is utilising less pc resources than other maps... hmm perhaps an issue there? .....

We have specs, in your case, your graphics card is below specs. On older maps, sure you can get away with it, but on this map, currently its hurting you. You can check as optimizations happen, but I wont lie to you and say that card is perfect for DCS. I am only talking you here, there may be others that have different issues.

it shows higher lua use percentage on caucasus because the rest of the frame computation takes less time than on marianas. thats to be expected.

Ok but how does that explain people with i7-10, 11 series 3090's 32-64gb of ram having horrible performance... are the best gaming rigs on the market not good enough for this map.. that in itself shows there's a clear as day issue.. unless of course ED wants to drive away their customers by releasing products that are out of reach or just manageable on top end systems.. 

 

I bet any money that in due time they will optimize it better and it will be playable otherwise they're only disappointing their customer base and driving sales away.

It doesnt explain that. Im saying the lua percentage says nothing about the nature of the problem, besides more time being spent per frame which is already known.

Yet I can play MS FS2020 on ultra settings with 40+ fps, half life alyx in vr on high settings no issues.. elite dangerous on high/max settings.. seems other companies are able to optimize better.. again not being rude but it's facts.

Nineline just tested you recommended settings on my rig.

64gig of ram

Whist it certainly keeps a very reasonable FPS, it just looks really bad in the air looking at the map, I cant honestly believe ED would want any one flying with these settings on this map, it just doesn't deliver the visuals this map is built for, ill tweak it up from here for Pancake mode but as others are reporting i'm not hoping for much once I get some details.

Here are your settings and also what they look like in game when I flew it 10 mins ago so others can see what it looks like, flight was free flight F18.

I understand the importance of having a PC matching your specs, but between an unpopular RTX2000 series and the shortage of newer RTX/AMD cards. To me it doesn't seem best to essentially exclude earlier generations cards. 
I understand this helps bring better looking stuff, and that itself is great. 

But while DCS is already kind of an elite game, making it even more exclusive essentially kills the purpose of a free map. So I don't really get that! 

I sure hope optimizing is part of the DCS roadmap. In this regards, I hope Vulcan and multithreading are seriously going to improve things. Hopefully Including features such as DLSS or super resolution (or both).

Our Specs will not be lowered, they will continue to grow. Vulcan isnt a silver bullet to cure all issues.

In regards to your specs, would you mind advising if you've been able to fly OK in VR - or if you only fly 2D please? (Sorry if you already have and if I've missed it) - and if VR, what VR you use?

 

(I know people say that their specs are in their sig, and I apologise if it's in yours too - for some strange reason the specs never show for me - not sure if I need to click on something).

For someone with a computer within our system specs, they should see an improvement, but we are not JUST adding vulcan, its part of a larger work. Vulcan alone is not enough for what we are doing.

VR has been tougher, I have the G2, and I am hoping for better optimization as are all of you, that said, I can get a decent 30 FPS in most situations, I really want this to improve though, and we are pushing the team to see performance closer to The Channel and such.

 

I'll add my specs, I used to have them, then I didnt, so I will put them back, will be easier for some to follow along.
