Uffff, Holly Molly guys.

25fps in the map with the same configuration in VR that gives me 45 fps in Caucasus and 35-40 pfs in Persian Gulf (with no other object than me in the mission).

Anyone having same behavior?, I think this map is not good optimized for VR ^_^

Same.

I get 30 FPS in Syria but 10-15 FPS in Marianas.

At first i thought its because of the trees, so i set tree sliders all to minimum - 2 FPS change.

Then i though it must be the shadows, set them to flat - maybe like 3 FPS change.

Maybe the terrain mesh? Tried ground radars, no observable slowdown (unlike Syria, interestingly).

So it seems to me that buildings are missing LODs or something like that perhaps.

Edit: not VR

No, it has nothing to do with the trees or the houses. 😞

Information for developers: I though maybe the high density of objects was the problem, because this only happens in the islands (in open sea I get 50-60fps easily)

But I have removed aaaaall the objects through a trigger "remove objects in zone" and I get only 30-35 fps.

Something is weird arround the islands sections. ^.^

Yea its bad. Id say about 50-60% of the performance I get on Syria map, VR.

The FAQ states "Some FPS struggles in certain areas of them map, optimizations are on going", sadly, for me, it is when I get about 10nm from any island.

You may need to adjust your settings as well, the 1080 might struggle if you are asking too much out of it. Thanks.

Thanks sir, I did try reducing distances but all other settings are already low or off. Also using 60 Hz instead of 90, with forced motion smoothing.

I am flying single player VR using the Hornet Free Flight mission. The multi-player server was around 17 fps near land, but the 75 players may have also caused issues.

I did have slightly better frames when testing a barebones mission with the Hornet, but still a less than the 30 I am used to in all other maps (except Channel I don't own).

Looking forward to the optimisations. Don't worry, Normandy was like this at release too 🙂

Why would you release a map that wasn't optimized to begin with?....FPS cut in half on a map that's 90 % water?...come on

Hum... Perfomance is trash for me, no matter what.

Syria 45fps+
Nevada 70fps
Caucasus 60fps+
Persian gulf 50fps+

Marianas 20fps- (in "standard" and low)

I am running a RX580 8gb, indeed very close to the recomended GTX1070. But as you can see marianas is unplayable even with an OK config !

I get anywhere between 50% to 30% of the performance of other maps...

To me loosing that much performance to similar maps is more akeen to a bug than it is to a lack of optimisation !

"Despite being an island map, you can expect similar performance to the Syria map; this is due to the very dense object population of the islands that includes trees, buildings, rocky coastlines, and other objects. At the time of release, optimizations is still ongoing, and we expect performance to improve in later updates. That said, please review the system spec requirements."   Syria is A Lot better!

I have an RTX 3090 and i9-9900k, quite the beast of a rig. I can fly at 1440p with all graphics settings maxed out for a smooth 60fps in any map DCS has to offer. Even downtown Vegas and Dubai.

That was...until today *dum dum dummmm*

First flight over central Guam when BOOM, much to my surprise, I fell down to a stuttering 30fps 😮 . This was very surprising because we're on an island! The map is mostly water. However there must be great graphical upgrades to the trees and buildings to cause the downfall of my GPU. When I lower the tree visibility distance and scenery texturing down 50% I can once again reach back up to 60fps.

I'm curious if there are going to be any further work on enhancing the efficiency of the map textures, or if this is just the way things are going to be from now on? Cheers!

Aye.  Not for the first time it seriously brings into question who ED'S testers are.

Yeah, same here, and my system is weaker with a 1080 Ti. Marianas Map cuts my FPS in half compared even to Syria, which unfortunately makes in unplayable in VR (unless I stay clear of all the islands...)

Well, it´s free and they´ll probably work on that...

Well I have to say, I'm sorry for everybody that has huge fps problems, but for many apparently it isn't really a problem.

We flew 4 ship hornets today all over the map and none of us had really any problems (we however all had lowered our settings previousely for flying missions on syria).

So especially as it is a free map, I'm still happy that it has been released for those of us who can already use it and hopefully for the rest it gets optimized soon.

Really hoping this isn't going to stay this way, as being a free map you'd think they'd want it super optimised.. third party maps have higher requirements okay but a core map to the game needs to have far better performance than this.. I often wonder why the testers/dev's test this stuff on super pc's and not common systems that most people have.

I get in general DCS requires better pc's but the fact I can run Syria almost double fps and syria is quite detailed tells me someone messed up on Mariana's.. but I've heard this always happens and in due time they will optimise to be run on the common folks system not nasa pc's 🙂

I mean honestly and not being mean but did anyone at ED test this properly as they should have seen how bad the fps is versus Syria.

No offense but I call bs on this.. my friend has a i7-10 series with a 3080 and plenty of ram and his performance tanked.. still playable for him but close to the point it's not.. being a free map ie core of game this should have better performance than Syria a third party map.
