Merely FYI -

In the release notes, mentioned something about a fix for VR stutter.   https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/176523/en-us

Also, the latest Win10 has something about fixing some perf issue as well:  https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/microsoft/windows-10-kb5003690-cumulative-update-released-with-gaming-fixes/

I just went out on my standard Jug flight.  I've got to say, via just my "butt dyno", it felt a bit smoother.  So far, I really like the new nVidia driver.  Also, I did apply the Win10 update as well.  It appears to be a keeper (for me).

Yup that 471.11 driver is actually running great and smooth so much that I’m bumped my SteamVR SS to 100% from 80.
Fantastic !

It seems to eliminate frametime spike issues for a lot of people. I’ve been busy modding Skyrim VR (probably the best VR experience on my Vive Pro 2 besides flightsims) and haven’t done much testing on my own but people are raving about it being the best driver so far.

PC: 9900K/3090, 11700K/2080Ti, 8700K/1080.

Joystick bases: TMWx2, VPC WarBRD, MT50CM2, VKB GFII, FSSB R3L

Joystick grips: TM (Warthog, F/A-18C), Realsimulator (F-16SGRH, F-18CGRH), VKB (Kosmosima LH, MCG, MCG Pro), VPC MongoosT50-CM2

Throttles: TMWx2, Winwing Super Taurus, Logitech Throttle Quadrant, Realsimulator RS Linear Throttle (soon)

VR: HTC Vive/Pro/Pro 2, Oculus Rift/Quest 2, Valve Index

Yeah I'm gonna go ahead and install that driver, but the Windows Gaming fix? Yeah, that thing is going nowhere near my PC....The day I start trusting Microsoft with these things is the day they find me dead on my floor clutching my Windows 10 USB Rom, with my cold gnarled fingers.

Specs: Win10, i9-9900KF@5Ghz, 32GB DDR4 RAM 3200XMP, 1 TB M2 NVMe SSD, KFA2 RTX3090, VR G2 Headset, Warthog Throttle+Saitek Pedals+MSFFB2  Joystick.

It says in the release notes that the stutter fix applies to when hardware monitoring in running ... I don't use hardware monitoring tools (as least I don't think that I do) so will it still be smoother in VR?

Seems Vive is warning people of possible BSOD issue with VP2 latest beta software and this 471.11 driver.

Mine updated this morning will see how it gets along with 471.11 for me today.

Does window game mode have to be enable for the so called windows game fixes. I have it disabled from day one as I heard that’s the thing to do… disable it.

I run Msi Afterburner in the background with no issues. Will test without it running this evening kinda makes sense.

I've run Msi in the background as well during my initial tests, and saw no stuttering issues.  I'll also try it out with Msi off, (just for grins).  I also run fpsvr too, and no issues.  but I'm planning to turn that off now, since I've been happy with my performance as of late.  (no need to monitor).

went out on some more flights and I'm really digging this driver.  It's so smooth from the previous 46x.xx's versions.

This latest driver did not work for me in MP.  Had all kinds of weird issues I've never seen before...like four large white balls floating around, checkboard coming in and out, and extreme stuttering.

Maybe nuke all remnants of the previous driver?

Still not had a chance to try this myself … how are others getting on with this driver and it’s performance?

I always do the "express installation" via the Geforce Experience thing - never had a problem but i guess there is always a first time.

I do the same.  Its the main reason I became a fan of Nvidia cards, because you didn't have to do the "driver dance" when you had Geforce Experience installed.

471.11 working great here.  The performance from the new driver, along with the extra color saturation and clarity from the VR Reshade tool have combined to make low-level combat in the A-10C a very intense experience.
