It may not be useful, in terms of combat, but could be useful in an RP mission element? Maybe also Harvester Hind? As for actually doing something, no. Currently DCS does not model foliage destruction. But it, like a few other things (Travel Pods), can be useful in a mission RP element. You could have a flight of Hinds tasked to Cropdust, while other flights are tasked to escort that flight.
