Right now is not the right time to purchase (or even try to) anything, better wait for the next generation including CPU and AMD new socket 5, if what I heared is true, then it will be worth looking for parts to upgrade... 1 Win 11Pro. BitMaster
They become items of desire and wet dreams, maybe we should sell Posters of 6800XT's and 3080ti's so one can put them up next to the Lamborghini Countach Poster. Rarely seen in real life, way too expensive for casual people with real lives, just like that Lambo 1 Gigabyte Aorus X570S Master - Ryzen 5900X - Gskill 64GB 3200/CL14@3600/CL14 - Asus 1080ti EK-waterblock - 4x Samsung 980Pro 1TB - 1x Samsung 870 Evo 1TB - 1x SanDisc 120GB SSD - Heatkiller IV - MoRa3-360LT@9x120mm Noctua F12 - Corsair AXi-1200 - TiR5-Pro - Warthog Hotas - Saitek Combat Pedals - Asus PG278Q 27" QHD Gsync 144Hz - Corsair K70 RGB Pro - Win11 Pro/Linux - Phanteks Evolv-X
Bossco82
I pre paid an order for a 6800xt when it was released. I got one in January but it was faulty. My pre paid order/replacement just came through this week. I cant imagine needing anything more powerful at the moment. It handles DCS at 4k 60hz no problem. It also does 2550mhz on 1050mv. However my previous 2080ti did the same, I have been able to turn the shadow detail up, that is about it. The biggest difference is it uses less electric to basically do the same job my 2080ti did. I admit though this is based on using a flat panel not VR.
KoN
I will definitely invest into a 6800xt as DCS is going Vulcan . Bossco82
I must admit I have been tied into this pre order for well over 6 months. When news of the new nvidia TI series was announced I questioned my decision. However now it is here and working I couldn't be happier with my new 6800xt. For me its working perfectly with DCS and I-L2. Its power efficiency and ability to hold a near perfectly consistent frametime is impressive. Thinder
I'll be waiting for the AMD socket 5 and CPUs (Q2 2022), for the time being I'm looking at the best VR headset solution because my G2 packed up and I haven't been playing DCS since, I just don't want to mess about with witch hats and since I used VR headsets, I undertood the advantage it offers when it comes to S.A, I rarely lost sight of a target with it, not the case with controls. If my infos are correct, we should see an increase of up to 100% in terms of GPU performaces when socket 5 is released and new AMD GPUs come out, since I'm not after premium top gear, appart for the VR headset, it is worth in my case to wait and look at an AMD mid-range GPU mid-2022 as part of a broader upgrade including motherboard, CPU GPU and perhaps RAM. Until then I'll be playing Elite dangerous and I don't need VR or a stronger P.C for it. Win 11Pro. Corsair RM1000X PSU.
