Please give this flight model inertia

Xxx

Recommended Posts

If anyone can add inertia to this aircraft I would be much obliged!

Take off from ground and landing is like a paper/polystyrene radio controlled model?

Too twitchy.

Watch videos of small plastic models radio controlled and thats what these are like?

Why doesn't anyone else see this?

Its a high performance WW2 aircrfat with no mass ??

Look at the mass/modelling in MSFS...its bad but at least they have mass.

This is why avoid WW2 aircraft in DCS....Big pity.

BF-109 too twitchy ?? For me it lags a lot at low speed especially in yaw axis.

Yes BF-109 is performance prop, this does not mean that it should act like 747.

If you complain about K-4 you should try Spitfire then 😛

If you want something that feels heavy, fly the P-47D!

Hmm..i i wonder it too. Maybe it's because you are right and eveybody else is wrong? Or could it, by any possibility be other way around. 🙂

It is pity that you avoid them, but problem is in your end really, not in FM of DCS.

Yes. Compared to the Spit and 109 it feels like a truck.

Indeed, a very nice big truck....  🙂

Bf-109 is kind unique in that regard, almost all mass is packed up in fuselage, guns engine fuel, this makes inertia very small in roll axis.

The yaw effect is not implemented right it should  yaw a couple more degrees before rolling( wing dihedral should make the wing less prone to yaw roll), because californian giant slip is impossible currently. Also adverse yaw is non existent

@kablamoman "massive"? Post video pls 😄

Dont be foolled by the slip indicator, its directly affected by roll. Yaw action and effect is non existent. Also the spitfire has comparable size rudder and engine yet it yaws 4 times more than bf109, There is no way that  the 109 is modelled correctly. Maybe @Yo-Yo has some input on this matter.

was I not allowed to use a dora?

wasn't the guy talking about the californian giant slip the dora pilot?

Edit:
@fapador

Hey sorry just reading back over some of the other posts, and I realize you may have been talking about the 109 specifically. Thought you were talking about the sim in general.

Anyway, I agree the 109 isn't as easy to slip as it seems to me the ailerons aren't as effective in opposing the roll coupling, but nevertheless you can still slip:

Is it true to life? I don't know, but I don't think it's unreasonable.

I just read comparison raport of g6, it is mentined there that g6 ailerons are almost non effective at low speed. This will handi cap slip ability.

Jesus some ppl here consider the modelling done as a holy grail

@grafspee I tried modifying a bf109 on x-plane 11 so it has the same control deflections and surfaces as the ones mentioned on the k-4 manual. The result is that it yaws much more over there
