Severe Yaw Oscillation at Mach 0.8 at Low Level

Recommended Posts

Fuel is at about 2500lbs

one cheek station loaded TGP, other pylons are empty.

This can be induced by kicking rudder left and right at a specific frequency, looks like the damping coefficient is far off.

do you have any information that it is incorrect or is it just a feeling?

Near at the end it just enters a violent oscillation that I have to kick rudder again to exit it. And it's not documented on haf cj50 flight characteristics, so guess it's incorrect?

The following maneuvers are prohibited:

-Repeated maximum rudder reversals.

-Rapid rudder release or reversal above 300 knots/0.6 mach

So, it seems, that you are executing prohibited maneuvers.

Ah then it makes sense. Thanks.

Yeah, I heard the F-16's flight control system automatically gives you proper rudder input so realistically pilots don't really use the rudder in flights.
