dorianR666
hi, not sure if really a bug report but maybe its worth mentioning while looking at the famous UFO videos https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cdJLaqNEFMM i have noticed that they have laser codes displayed while clearly in AA mastermode, with the associated UFC option as well. some of them display range after acquiring point/auto track, maybe laser can be used for ranging in AA too? in dcs the whole laser data block is hidden when in aa mastermode. Jak525
Laser is not used for ranging in AA. The range is either from FLIR passive ranging or the FLIR Autotrack target merely being correlated to a Radar target and thus fused into a single MSI trackfile, and the range data would be from the Radar. With no passive range or another range contributor then the trackfile for the FLIR target would be angle-only without range. That said, yes, does appear the code is still changeable in AA. Does this mean ATFLIR auto track should generate its own MSI trackfile? Would it be then selectable on ATTK RDR page? I wondered how to slave radar to ATFLIR target, seems its not possible in DCS currently. 7 hours ago, Jak525 said: FLIR Autotrack target merely being correlated to a Radar target and thus fused into a single MSI trackfile, and the range data would be from the Radar. This doesnt happen in DCS either. Edited May 28, 2021 by dorianR666 CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600X GPU: AMD RX

Yes, the FLIR (or targeting pod) is a donor to the MSI picture, at least IRL and not currently in DCS. Trackfiles when MSI is enabled should include tracks purely given by the FLIR or even datalink, but it is not currently the case. We can "see" datalink tracks but they don't behave like tracks (ie selectable and L&S-able).

Paging @Mo410 Laser codes remain changeable and do not depend on master mode selection. That being said, this is more of a pod interface thing so nothing is absolute there. But why not make them changeable since they clearly are here.

Yep, so to slave the Radar to FLIR, you'd just acquire it like any other trackfile on the Az/El or Attack. You could also make it the L&S and so on. The reason there is no dedicate "Radar-FLIR slave mode" is because of this. There's no need for it with MSI.
