Optimum flare/chaff settings

Interesting. 

I always thought (based on MY experience) that flare / chaff program has no effect on missile hit probability. 

 

I mean I tried various configurations in amount of decoys dropped, interval, sequences and I did not notice advantage of one over the other configuration.

For chaff I have found that a burst of three with a .25 second interval works great for me.

I mostly do single sequence of 6 decoys over the time of 3 seconds. I tend to have one program for chaff and one for flares in a missions that I know what threats are there or combine these for unknowns.
