Aircraft and cockpit way too bright at night

Hey, I have a problem that my aircraft and it's cockpit are way too bright at night.

I've attached three screenshots. The A10c in the screens has no electrical power and is shut down, but it looks as bright as if there was a flood light on. Also in the external view it's the only brightly illuminated object on the runway. This is in the A10c II Nevada landing instant action mission.

The Hornet in the third screen has some green instrument panel lighting on, but also no flood light and seems to be way too bright, too.

Anyone else having this problem?

Kind Regards,

Migo

I get this problem initially at the start of a mission pre start up in A10C2, but then everything is plunged into darkness as if a light switch is turned off, when starting a mission at night.

If I start the A10c II Nevada landing instant action mission directly after opening DCS it's alright, but if I fly a A10c mission in daylight at first and then enter the night mission I have this bug.

As if something is falsely being cached in memory here.

First mission after DCS start up is a night time - almost as if the aircraft is lit up in floodlighting, and its normally just as I am about to switch on the battery master everything goes very dark.

Will try to get a screenshot or track later.

Me on the ramp at Tonapah - all bright:

Around 10 seconds later:

Not Floodlit.jpg

This is first night mission after starting DCS. If I exit the mission then restart it - no floodlight affect.

Still getting the same in Nevada - and the opposite in other maps.

Shut down and restarted DCS. Created/started a night mission in the Persian Gulf - getting the opposite!  So aircraft positioned in a floodlit position on a runway unknown (apologies - was a quick check). Tarmac now lit up - A10C2 all in blackness. Will do some more thorough testing and report back when I have a bit more time.

OK - appears this happens in 2.5 as well, and only on the Nevada or Gulf maps. Have attached a couple of tracks from 2.5. When viewing a track showing the same from 2.7 it displayed correctly?

I saw that kind of lighting only in VR with stereo parser enabled ... turning it off fixed my lighting issues.

Having only just got into head tracking I would not even pretend to know what that is? 🤣

Yes, the recipe has been found not so long ago:

  1. First play a daylight mission with clouds
  2. Then play a nighttime mission with no cloud at all: you get the bug.

Devs are aware. Wait and see.

That seems correct, was able to reproduce this also. Flying first at day with clouds, then at night and my cockpit shines like crazy.

Fighting for peace is like screwing for virginity.
