Which Headset Should I Buy?

Full Refund

Recommended Posts

My Reverb G1 just died.  It was great but only made it 18 months so I’m a little  suspicious of HP reliability.  🤔

I’m considering the Index, Reverb G2, or Quest 2.  Already have Index lighthouses (my son’s) so I would only need he headset.  Thus, for me, the prices are similar.  Reverb $600, Index $500, Quest2 $350ish.   The new headset will be used primarily for DCS.

Were you getting a black screen in the headset?

Kinda off the topic but I had a gradually progressing set of problems that ended with it doing a brick imitation. But yes, the very first symptom I had months ago was the screen intermittently going black.

I have compared both a G1 and G2 in my hands.  While I preferred my G1 and shipped back the G2, it seems like the G2 is your only option unless you can get a used G1 in good shape.  But perhaps HP will replace your G1.  I had mine replaced since it was doing the same thing as yours did.  You ought to see if they will replace it.

Thanks. They are evaluating my claim.  Why did you return your G2?

Still loving my Reverb G2 so far.

I do have an Index arriving tomorrow so will be interesting to compare the two.

I am thinking along the line of using my Reverb G2 for flight and racing sims, Index for some other made for VR games that utilize the controllers.
