I think Thinder is a real US dude.

Fighting for free speech, fighting for his rights, fighting for privacy, fighting for the things he wants to do.

But then...all these company's who do just the opposite are US based. Contradiction in terms?

What is your definition of "trusting"?  And how is that definition different than "using"?

Do you "trust" your TotalAV?  Do you "trust" Google?  Or Facebook?  Do you trust your bank?  Do you trust your government?  Do you trust that your front door will stop intruder?

Buy an Oxford.

And I took notice that yourself doesn't trust Microsoft since you speak of multiple layers for your O.S protection, so visibly, there isn't a lot of trust from you in Microsoft ability to protect your system...

As for the reasons why I don't trust Microsoft I have given enough of them and won't elaborate much further, that would take a turn into global politics which is not (I think) welcome in this forum, but as all big tech companies, Microsoft doesn't give a damned about their customers, they have their agenda and it's gone political, not my cuppa.

TotalAV are a small company which have a lot more interest in satisfying their customers precisely because they don't have the monopoly and the luxury of myckey taking the big tech have, since I use it, I didn't have a single virus infection and  the number of false positive is down to literally ZERO.

NO I don't trust Google, neither do I trust Youtube but I use both, Zukenberg is a fascist and Facebook a new form of media censorship, same for Tweeter, Gates is in the same boat.

As I said there aren't any alternative O.S we can use for gaming and those issues cann't be resolved by users but by politicians or techies writing lines to allow us to disable and block the apps embeded in those we use, which is apparently more and more difficult since the introduction of the Windows Update Mecid Service.

There are less and less people capable of coming up with those lines and Windows pretty much does what it want even if the user doesn't want or need it, like upgrading, if people aren't aware or careful enough, it's their personal data which are transfered to Microsoft, don't tell me they need them to get your PC to work better...

... the only reason they can legally get away with all this B.S is because of the monopoly they have on O.S.

Actually, they don't have a monopoly, because there are other OS that you may install on your PC. What they do have is a majority market share, but that is not the same as a monopoly.

Of course, the OS is a basic requisite of any software package that we may want to use, so if we want to use DCS 2.7 then we dont have a choice .. it only runs on Windows 10 ..  the choice was already made for us by the Sim manufacturer.

I know what it means.  I was asking what "YOUR" definition was.  Do you trust it with your life?  Or do you trust it just enough as part of multi-layer security?  I am latter and I am sure everyone who uses defender here is same.  It is not their ONLY security.  Do you "trust" your TotalAV as absolute single layer security?  If not, how is it any different than anyone using Defender?  I doubt there's ANYONE who will say they "trust" Microsoft.  But they're just "using" it.

And you actually do have a choice.  You can dual boot and use Windows for games only.  Without entering any personal info.  And boot into Linux for everything else.  But most of us don't do that for convenience.  Just like the waiter and valet example I gave.  But I'm not gonna tell those people that their dumb for trusting the valet or waiter.

Name a single O.S that allow playters to play DCS and other online games please... You said it yourself and you replied without reading my post entirely, I secified the use of O.S, if I had the choice I wouldn't bother with Windows.

Stop messing about, FACT is you miscoted me and try to go away with it. Missed, and as i said, buy an Oxford.

And you actually do have a choice.

No you don't, not as long as you play online, if your P.C is linked to the internet you're screwed if you don't keep Windows 10 under control, and Microsoft make it increasingly difficult at every single release of a new update, if you had monitored them for as long as I did you'd know.

So you really don't know Windows to pretend that it wont send infos to Microsoft without you knowing, how many background apps and services have you disabled and did you check your apps and services settings since the last update?

Enuff said, you can keep bubbling about how good defender is, FACT is it isn't even that good compared to a quality antivirus and Microsoft haven't even bothered trying to make it efficient, it is not meant to be, it is part of their system and meant ot keep control of the product they sell to people, meaning it is not under your control but theirs.

For a starter you can't even disable it anymore thanks to the addition of "Windows UIpdate Medic Service", what business is it to Microsoft which update you want on your P.C and which you don't want?

You also visibly have missed all the Internet laws updates and the plan put down publicly by the big tech including Microsoft, I quoted a few, but basically; censorship for political means is obviously in the pipeline, they will, if people doesn't stand up, censor free speech, prevent access to sites they don't want people to visit, make invisible others etc.

I'm not gonna do your homework for you, you obviously have little idea what you're writing about and haven't studied it in any deph or details. the day the s£$t is gonna hit the fan some are gonna be prepared, I'm not sure you will.

Okay... I guess that settles it. 😅

I didn't misquote you btw.  You're just not understanding ANYTHING I say.  Where did I praise how good Defender is?  Saying it's adequate as a layer of security and we're knowingly allowing its security flaw is "bubbling" how good it is?  And I'm misquoting? LMAO.

Just a little reminder:

1) Windows 10 doesn't need updates or access to the net to be fully functional. Fresh install of an unregistered release with drivers downloaded from your local internet cafe will make your O.S safe and fast as long as you don't go online.

2) Every single "multimedia" App monitors and collect your personal data, that will be your Internet use, your phone book, contact list etc (if you store those infos through the apps), there are options to turn them off or even unistall them but at the first "security" update, your settings will be reset. Result = Personal data leaks without your knowledge.

3) Windows 10 Defender is inefiscient vs hackers and have a higher percentage of false positive than a good antivirus (experienced first hand), but it cannot be disabled or uninstalled, it is used to monitor your internet use.

4) Windows update is fully part of this monitoring (call it spying at this level) and cannot be disabled since a while, previous to this killer update, ex-Microsoft techies were writing lines and creating apps to prevent the leack of personal data, apps such as "Take Ownership" or anything of the kind that allowed for disabling Microsoft Update are now inefiscient.

Update will be downloaded willing or not, the only way to go around this issue is to clean your system with a good cleaner, so the temporary files will be deleted, but even so the options of disabling Windows automatic Update still exist, it doesn't work since the update that brought "Medic Service", update are forced on users willingly or not.

5) Microsoft have publicly sided with the globalist politician who stated that they wanted a crackdown on freespeech, it already started with Facebook and tweeter censorship, purely for political reasons, the US Senate also established the fact that those two companies were exchanging data for the purpose of censoring political opponants, politician and supporters alike.

I watched the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing so if anyone needs a mental check it's the compulsive reality deniers...

Take a hike dude.

Not only you turned my comment into something else but you also managed to spin your way around (but not out) of your ignorant display, can't help it if you got it wrong in the first place.

As I said, trusting Microsoft with anything is DUMB (I havent inplied that those using it were dumb as opposed to what you wrote), Microsoft are not trustworthy, even less with an application that doesn't work like it should but contribute to the leaking of your personal data to them.

Happy you block me I don't need this kind of idiotic behavior as response to my posts. Bye, and dont forget to buy an Oxford for X-Mass.

Just a personal note: I'm flattered, the forum divas in reality denial support their pal by blocking me, good enough for me, I only hope I won't be able to read their "specialist" opinions in the future.

That's a guy bubbling about MY definition of the word trusting and still not trusting Windows Defender enough to use it on its own, talk about attention seeking, I had a hard uprising and I'm not impressed by emoticons and personal attacks, is that's all you've got? Good  enough again, you lost the debate, I notice not one of you geezers managed to prove my points wrong.
