Startup procedure - Ejection Mode / Ejection Sequence Valve = Ejection Seat Priority Lever?

Recommended Posts

Hey there, just going through the C-101 startup procedure.

On step 2, the tutorial (C-101EB) is asking me to check for "Ejection Mode: off", the normal procedures checklist in the C-101 manuals (p.84 for the EB manual, p.85 in the other one) ask for "Ejection Sequence Valve: as required".

Since both of these are not further mentioned in the manual, i could not identify either. (edit: it also is not highlighted with yellow brackets like the other items are during the tutorial, making it really hard to identify).

The only thing i could find was the "Ejection Seat Priority Lever" to the rear right of the rear pilots seat.

Questions that arise:

Is this the correct lever?

What does it do?

Where should it be on interior check and in flight? (tutorial says "off", manual says "as required" for interior check)

Cheers, fly safe

Hello,

The Ejection Seats of the C-101 have three Modes of operation:

The student, on the front seat, can never eject the instructor (on the back seat). He can only eject himself.

The Ejection Control Valve can only be adjusted on the ground:

The Instructor has two options, depending on the valve position

Control Valve at ON. The Instructor initiates the ejection, the rear seat ejects first and 0.3-0.4 seconds later the front seat ejects.

Control valve at OFF. The instructor initiates the ejection, but only the rear seat ejects.

Ah, so i got the correct one!

Thanks a lot for the info, makes sense now also why the lever is not operated when flying from the front seat only.

The Mode select lever is located kind of  out of site behind the seat.... so probably not visible in the Sim

If you look on the first post of the thread, the control valve is visible. Don't know if it is operable on the sim, however.
