C3PO
Hi - coming from the Harrier to the Hornet, the HUD on the Hornet seems a little less smooth ... as if the update rate is 20 FPS v the equivalent of 30 or more for the Harrier. Is there a reason for this - am I missing a setting? You'd think they would have made the frame rate as high as possible to allow for more accurate, well, everything. Santi871
Real HUDs depending on their technology have limitations. Not only in the display's refresh rate but also in the rate at which the data is transmitted to the unit. As far as the Hornet is concerned we are talking at least 2-3 decades old tech, the data rate limit of the avmux is modeled and that's probably what you're noticing. And in a Rhino Can't speak for other modules, you'll have to ask their developers if they're modeling things like that. Bunny Clark
The HUD on our Hornets is driven by the DDI symbiology computer, which I think is unchanged from the very first Hornets? Which would mean the computer is from the 70s. It's way better than the F-14 HUD though; using the Tomcat's flight path marker to land feels like flying drunk. 1 Oil In The Water Hornet Campaign. C3PO
Thanks guys - but I mean compared to the AV-8B in-game, whose HUD looks a lot smoother to my eyes. some1
It's not simulated in most DCS airplanes. In real life It's also not super smooth in the Harrier, although hard to tell if It's better in the Hornet or the same. Also various elements can have different refresh rates. The thing to remember is that harrier in dcs is still just a simulation. Without saying anything about the reputation of the dev, any simulation makes a poor reference source. 2 476th Discord | 476th Website | Swift Youtube Ryzen 5800x, RTX 4070ti, 64GB, Quest

gorzasty
Any fix for this? Especially in VR the F-18 and F-16 are really pain to flight with this hud. Real life reference is so much smoother.
