Sierra1
I set the flight altitude for some B-52 at 25000' and the persist to fly at around 7000' ASL. Why? Best Regards Sture Smidt DCS-flyer Find me on Facebook :joystick:
Exorcet
Are there enemy SAM's nearby? In recent patches DCS default AI logic was changed so that AI aircraft would prioritize terrain masking over following waypoint altitude. To fix this you need to set their Reaction to Threat setting to "Evade Fire". VpR81
Rather try "no reaction" in reaction to threat settings, works for me. With "evade fire" they will do exactly this, evade fire by terrain masking.
Exorcet
You shouldn't need or want No Reaction. The bomber won't defend itself with this option. Evade Fire will have the bomber ignore threats until it's fired upon, making it more likely to survive. If you don't want the bomber to move at all, but still defend against attack, select Passive Defense. Here in my test there are 3 bombers: default, Evade Fire, No Reaction Only the default bomber dives to hide from the radar.
