Thank you for your pre-orders, we appreciate the support.

We are trying for steam pre-order but currently not possible.

Thank you for letting us buy this beautiful thing!

I went from Steam to standalone just to get it lol

When the YouTube notification dropped on the phone, it was first thing go to pre-order page and buy it. Required short stop to see that I could have paid the whole module with the ED miles, and I was like why, because they deserve full money. Then I stopped to consider that how to actually pay without -30% discount, and decided that I buy a second as a gift for someone. Then I proceed with the YouTube video. And damn how it has some scenes that looks so real!

It was requirement to watch the trailer three times and share the link to few places.

And now I look the calendar and it says 26.3 and Mi-24P is to be released at end of Q2 (May-June)....

who forces you to use Steam? I started on DCS on 2013, on  Steam sale with 75% off .. good times where those.

But after only 6 months I realized that I was going to be with DCS for the long haul, so I switched to stand-alone on 2014, mostly to better support the developers and avoid the 30% cut of Steam. Never regretted this switch.

And I've stuck with Steam since its inception and haven't regretted it once. I'll stay with Steam, but thanks for the input! If ED gets a pre-order discount for Steam users, great. If not then I oh well. I enjoy discounts on the other products.

Hey - so how long does it usually take for sale prices to approximate the pre-order price?

My computer can't currently run it - I might well just pre-order it anyway to show support, but I'n wondering how soon I need to upgrade my computer in order to 'justify' getting it.

I use Steam for my other games (american truck sim, etc), but for DCS my choice was for ED’s e-store 🙂

Immediately pre-ordered as I purchase all things REDFOR, but I was disappointed with the pre-order trailer for the Hind. It did not show off the Shturm anti-tank missiles or co-pilot action. Hopefully we get  the custom skin template soon!

I am interested to see how ED solved the missile sight system for VR users. As it is in odd position and requires in reality to look downward with one eye while using controls (from a tank) to use the periscope sight.

Hopefully it is not a button that will transfer you to "darkness" and you see a sight picture.

Maybe its not on the trailer, but the product description says that it will be on the Early Access version:

  • Full modeling of armament and weapons systems with ability to use 30mm cannon, unguided rockets (S-8, S-13, S-24B) and bombs from both cockpits in addition to the guided ATGM 9M114 operated by forward seated pilot-operator

Also I wonder if we will get 2-player or 3-player multicrew, since we will be getting a door gunner in the back of the Hind. This should be usable, correct? Does this mean we'll have max 3-player multicrew, or still only 2? I'll make a separate topic.

2 players:

  • Multi-crew. Second crew member can be another player or "Petrovich" AI (basic AI level during early access phase)

So then what is the deal with the KORD window machine gunner. Will it be AI?

I really don't know .. and probably no user of this Forum knows either, as no one has tried the software yet.
