General Dynamics F-111 Aardvark

Would love it, preferably an 80s F-111F with Pave Tack (used on Operation Eldarado Canyon against Libya, though the entire route would include the UK midlands, the Channel, and the Mediterranean), F/A-18Cs and A-6Es were also used in the strike.

As for it not being in DCS now, probably a multitude of reasons - ED seems pretty averse to doing Cold War BLUFOR aircraft (the only ones they did were actually done by BST before they merged) instead preferring to basically do the latest and greatest, even if opposing contemporary aircraft aren't likely to get anywhere near them any time soon.

It's a left over from Flanker 2.5 IIRC, along with the MiG-29K and a fair few weapons. There's also a LOMAC:FC2 (?) AH-1G.

meanwhile we a lot of people want cold war planes- and cold war era maps. Now back the the ardvark.

The A-6 and F-111 are both planes I hope heatblur touches and does a multi version module. I believe the A saw some combat in Rolling Thunder and the D and E were in the Linebacker campaigns. I would hope for at least one Vietnam era Aardvark, the F and possibly the C.

The A saw action in Rolling Thunder, but the there were issues with the intakes.

The D was the most advanced Vietnam era, it fixed the intake issue and had digital avionics.

The E I believe was basically the A's avionics in the D's engine and intakes. It was ordered since there were some delays in the D's avionics. If I am right then there is no reason not to have the E if we got the A.

The C had larger wings, I'm not sure in terms of Avionics what American version it would be the closest too when it first came out or what upgrades it received.   I have seen some photos of an F-111 with MFDs.

G  originally the FB-111 they have the larger B wings like the Australian a differnt avionics suite I am not sure what changes were made when they became the G other than the designation.

Raven  The replacement for the EB-66. I believe someone is working on an IAD module for Eagle so if we are getting an EW overhaul the Sparkvark would be good for the AI.

I have said it on my Phantom thread If we get multiple versions of a fighter, I would prefer to get them all as a single module, however if a company doesn't feel it is worth the cost to develop multiple variants then please do discounts based on how much new work had to be done.

Yep, and I'm definitely one of them! :smilewink:

Fine, my favourite variant is an 80s F-111F w. Pave Tack, as used in the Operation Eldorado Canyon bombing mission against Libya, operating out of RAF Lakenheath and Upper Heyford.

This is the variant that also best fits the majority of current assets - the problem with Vietnam, as great an era for aircraft as it was, we're missing a fair number of assets (most of our assets are 70s/80s). And the only 70s modules we have right now is the MiG-21bis and the F-5E-3.

Yep, would be great as AI, and I'd take it even in a non-functional state. But it would necessitate an EW overhaul, which in turn mandates a major upgrade to basically every RADAR in DCS to facilitate it.

There is an A-7 and F-8 in the pipes and we need more cold war assets in general. I believe we have a 1960s assets pack on the way

It looks like we are getting an EW overhaul so I would like the EF-111, EA-6, EB-66 and EA-3
