But yeah, as suggested above look into the stored alignment function. There was some detailed info on the recent-ish INS updates if you do a search.

Even using Stored Heading though, it seems to take a little longer than 90 seconds it claims.

Mine has never aligned quite that fast.

Doesn't the 'OK' in the centre of the HSI indicate when it's completed?
