toan Posted January 30, 2021 Share Posted January 30, 2021 I totally agree: with the F-8 Crusader, the Alizé and the Breguet Atlantic, we would have the whole French Navy air fleet in the '70-80s. But for that, we need to ask Santa Claus for several years... Now, concerning the surface vessels, there is a huge gap concerning the escort and supply ships to form a realistic naval airpower group. There used to be a detailed frigate FREMM and supply ship to escort the Charles de Gaulle carrier in previous versions of DCS (1.5.x ?). But they havn't been updated and don't work anymore. And so far, nothing for the Clemenceau carrier. Currently, I form its escort with Australian Daring class destroyers using the available Mod for DCS. And the escort for the Charles de Gaulle consists in modern Spanish frigates of the Cristofo Colombo class (Mod for DCS also). These make nice multinational fleet operating in the Persian Gulf ! Bon, tout à fait d'accord, avec le Cruz, l'Alizé et le Bréguet Atlantic, on aurait la panoplie complète !.... Il faut passer commande au Père Noel, pendant plusieurs années.... Maintenant, coté surface, il manque cruellement des navires d'escorte et de ravitaillement pour former un vrai groupe aéronaval. Il n'y a plus de frégate ni d'escorteur tricolore disponibles. Il existait pour des versions antérieures de DCS (1.5.x ?), je crois, une FREMM et un ravitailleur, très bien faits avec moultes détails, pour accompagner le CDG. Mais ils n'ont pas été mis à jour et ne fonctionnent plus. Mais rien pour le Clem. Par défaut, je le fais escorter par des destroyers australiens de la classe Daring (Mod dispo dans DCS), qui sont d'époque ! Quant au CDG, il est escorté dans mes missions par des frégates espagnoles modernes de la classe Cristofo Colombo (Mod DCS également). fill Posted January 30, 2021 Share Posted January 30, 2021 Je me trouvais sur le "D624 Bouvet" amarré au même ponton que le Clem quand la Minerve ne donnait plus signe de vie: janvier 1968. Je me souviens qu'aux infos télévisées, nous étions à la cafet, on nous montrait le Clem en mer. Je suis sorti en vitesse de la cafet et il était toujours là: l'équipage venait juste de commencer le démarrage des chaudières, tout comme nous. Nous avons appareillé avec 2 tiers de l'équipage à bord, le reste nous a rejoint en mer plus tard. J'avais pris des photos, malheureusement perdues aujourd'hui, à part quelques-une. Les Alizés ont fait un sacré boulot, ainsi qu'un Atlantic venu en renfort: il y avait du monde en mer et dans les airs. Malheureusement, nous avons rien trouvé. The Foch was the sister-ship of the Clemenceau. The carrier landing shows the night lights of the ramp. Still, this is not a full night carrier trap... Mais à part MFS, je ne sais pas si ces hélicos sont dispo quelque part. En attendant, entrainement en vue de la qualif appontage de nuit... Bons vols, Toan I agree. I'd like to have the rescue helicopter fly during carrier air ops. But I don't know if these helos are available anywhere, except MFS. Meanwhile, training for night traps are going on... Jazz Posted February 4, 2021 Share Posted February 4, 2021 (edited) Hey, can someone please explain how to use the missiles in this mod? It said I needed the Rafale pack for all of the weapons to work so I got that but nothings changed. As its using the Mig 29 pit and HUD, there is no AA mode, and only really the AG works dropping bombs and using the guns. I noticed If I turn radar on in AG mode I get this "ETS" symbology. Du coup j'ai un carré qui apparait dans le Hud, carré qu'on peut déplacer mais ensuite impossible de locker et tirer!!! De quel "diamond" parlez vous??? Merci d'avance. toan Posted February 4, 2021 Share Posted February 4, 2021 Pour les Exocet : une fois le carré affiché dans le HUD, il faut le déplacer sur la cible ET verrouiller (commande clavier Enter, p.ex). Un peu d'entrainement, et ça se passe bien. Il vaut mieux faire une approche au ras des flots pour échapper aux radars adverses (les argentins faisaient ça très très bas, à 50 ft...), et prendre de l'altitude à distance de tir (500-1000 ft), mettre le radar, locker et tirer. Et ensuite redescendre très vite au ras des flots pour s'échapper... C'est comme ça que le Sheffield a été perdu par les anglais aux Malouines... Petite précision historique : lorsque la flotte anglaise a appareillé pour les Malouines, les Harrier britanniques se sont entrainés au large des cotes françaises avec les Super Etendard français pour évaluer leur performances et capacités respectives.... To fire the Exocet, once the square (aka diamond) is visible in the HUD, you must move it on the target, THEN lock the target (Enter key, or whatever stick button is assigned) to be able to fire. Training is the key, as is for every aspect of flying... You'd better have a very low ingress profile to avoid detection by enemy radars (Argentina pilots flew at around 50 ft above sea level...), go up to 500-1000 ft at firing distance, switch the radar on, lock the target and then fire the Exocet. Next, you must fly fast and low to egress... That's how the Argentina pilots damaged the British Sheffield during the Malvinas (aka Falklands) war. The boat was so severly damaged that it was sunk later on, being un-repairable. Now to be historically exact, when the Royal Navy fleet sailed from England to the Falklands, their Harrier aircraft had combat training with the French Navy Super Etndard, off the French coast, to experiment with the respective aircraft performance and abilities.... sushy73 Posted February 5, 2021 Share Posted February 5, 2021 (edited) Extrait de la documentation incluse dans le Rafale pack: SCALP : Il faut obligatoirement une cible radar navale où terrestre.Utiliser impérativement le pod Thales RBE2. - Selection de l'armement air/sol (7) - Selection du SCALP (D) - Allumez le Radar (I): à ce stade le diamant ( losange ) s'allume et vous montre la cible, dirigez le désignateur de cible sur le diamant avec les touches adéquates (vous n'avez pas besoin de l'écran TV tout se fait dans le Hud) puis verouillez la cible avec la touche (entrée). - Puis autorisation de TIR avec (Alt gauche et Z) NOTE : vous pouvez tirez de très loin ( des que vous aurez le losange de cible détectée) environ 200km suivant les cibles et à une altitude de 2000m. C'est un "Tir et oubli". ---------------------------------------------- EXOCET: même procédures que le SCALP. De préférence, volez à basse altitude: 700 à 800m Se porter à 60 Km maxi de la cible . ------------------------------------------------ Il faut que la cible possède un radar pour que l'EXOCET l'accroche. A scenario that really happened during the Falklands (aka Malvinas) war... There was a thrilling record from one of the pilots that flew the real attack and who severely damaged the Sheffield. The Atlantic Conveyor, a cargo ship that had important supplies, was also sunk during a similar raid. Nice recollection. Regards That's right. You can set the IA to take off and then take control or the aircraft, or take off with low fuel and strong winds from backwards haha.
