Charly_Owl
In the Viggen, I've noticed that there is a significant framerate drop/stutter when launching all rockets at once. If I go by smaller salvos, the framerate drop is manageable (not that bad), but a full salvo with 4 pods brings you in the 10 FPS range when rockets are fired. I have a pretty beefy setup (64 gb RAM, Nvidia RTX2070), and I think it should be looked at. Flappie Posted yesterday at 12:23 PM Share Posted yesterday at 12:23 PM (edited) Hi Chuck. Does it look like the AIM-120 FPS drop (1:50 in the video)? If so, it may be an issue ED has to fix. Charly_Owl Posted yesterday at 02:37 PM Author Share Posted yesterday at 02:37 PM (edited) No, it's always been there since as long as I can remember. I don't get FPS drops with Amraams or with HVAR rockets. Flappie Posted yesterday at 05:42 PM Share Posted yesterday at 05:42 PM Here's a very short track. I go from 55 FPS to 45 FPS. How is your framerate doing? viggen_firing_all_4_rocket_pods.trk Accurate DCS 2.5 Caucasus map - v1.
Raven (Elysian Angel) Posted yesterday at 05:57 PM Share Posted yesterday at 05:57 PM That's probably one of the reasons ED will be making new effects for those. From the latest newsletter: [quote] Some of the new / improved visual effects in development for 2021 includes: Improved helicopter rotor wash over water and ground. Missile flame and smoke. Ground unit dust clouds. Trans-sonic shock cones. Fuel explosions. Weapon water splash. Further explosion improvements. Smoke grenades.
