In real pictures there seems to be more room from the superstructure to the back of the aircraft exhaust. That space in real life appears to be larger than in DCS? All I'm saying is that I'm not surprised it's not to scale. It's weird placing aircraft there in the mission editor because you can't actually see where the side of the island is.
