Don't expect superb results though (eye candy wise). Plus it will depend on your resolution also.

Never believe published system requirements for a game. Ever.

Guys, if you want to help new players who ask this question, the correct answer is “Download and find out”

Its free guys! And even the expensive modules have ftp periods now.

The minimum specs haven’t been updated in years and are very vague for noobs considering the nomenclature of CPUs these days.

I got DCS to boot on 1 core during an experiment. Wouldn’t want to actually play it like that.

Yes that will run DCS because it runs on my computer which I build in 2011.

- CPU - i7-2600K 3.4GHz - installed 2011

- MB - MSI P67A-GD65 - installed 2011

- RAM - 32GB DDR3-1600 Corsair RAM - upgraded 2020

- GPU - GeForce GTX 1060 3GB (overclocked) - installed 2018

- DCS installed on SSD

MSI Afterburner Benchmark results using these benchmark mission files: Gryz's DCS Benchmark Files (digitalcombatsimulator.com)

2021 Jan 10, 10:31:39 DCS.exe benchmark completed, 11392 frames rendered in 218.688 s
benchmark v1 complex mission
                     Average framerate  :   52.0 FPS
                     Minimum framerate  :   32.6 FPS
                     Maximum framerate  :   75.5 FPS
                     1% low framerate   :   28.5 FPS
                     0.1% low framerate :    3.6 FPS
2021 Jan 10, 10:35:14 DCS.exe benchmark completed, 9634 frames rendered in 142.657 s
benchmark v2 empty mission
                     Average framerate  :   67.5 FPS
                     Minimum framerate  :   31.5 FPS
                     Maximum framerate  :   93.9 FPS
                     1% low framerate   :   47.4 FPS
                     0.1% low framerate :    1.9 FPS

Your set-up should get better results than these.

What is such a benchmark worth without posting your ingame settings to compare?

DCS 2.5 will run ok at 1080P with those specs if with adjusted settings (mix of low, medium and high), but you've got to test that yourself.

Worst case scenario, if it runs like crap, then DCS 1.5.8 is still available.

Anyone unable to run DCS 2.5 with reasonable framerates and feeling left out, DCS 1.5 is a true alternative. It will run good on medium spec PCs.

That (legacy) DCS 1.5 version has been discontinued since November 2017, there's only the Caucasus map, and only aircraft modules released up and until late 2017 will work in it, but the same type of top level simulation is in there, enough content to keep anyone busy for a long, long time.

There are also some really nice eye-candy mods for it around, namely the PMTC v2.3 mod (textures overhaul for the Caucasus map of DCS 1.5).

Will these specs run DCS world?

AMD Ryzen 5 2600x

16 GB RAM

AsRock B450m Pro-4 motherboard

It absolutely will run, but you will have to adjust the settings to get good FPS. But you can have a lot of great flights, no question. Not sure about the planes, but maps like Syria and the Channel might not run very well on those specs.

Like Sn8ke_iis said: "Download and find out".

And don't go rushing out to buy planes. Get into the free Su-25T. It's a lot of fun, has a ton of firepower, and if you find you are comfortable handling the weapons systems, then you'll know if you will be happy with more complicated planes. If you find the Su-25T too complicated, you won't be happy with planes like the F-18. You might want to stick with the FC planes which are much, much easier to manage, and still a lot of fun.

Some of the planes, but all of the maps!
