only the IC pass version will work with multiplayer servers,

Was going on servers that do not require IC so thought it would 😞

Yes think I will pull the trigger on a new PC (i7 10700K + 32GB Ram) this week and just keep my RTX 2060 for now ( I bought it for £250  a year ago and now they sell for almost £500!), I'm very excited that I might be able to get some decent FPS soon.

Mods I use: KA-50 JTAC - Better Fire and Smoke - Unchain Rudder from trim KA50 - Sim FFB for G940 - Beczl Rocket Pods Updated!

Processor: Intel Q6600 @ 3.00GHz

That should work then, bear in mind you will need to generate shaders for everything you have not seen before, so it might take some time.

It will certainly remove your cpu as the bottleneck, just make sure you get a decent cooler so you can ramp it it up to 5ghz+

Hey speed of heat, I’m finally...finally getting around to setting everything up on my new rig. I finally was able to run your setting and directions and man ooooh man what a huge difference in this 3090 and my G2. I just need alittle bit of tweaking pre app and it will be looking just about perfect.
Thanks for all your help and guidance.

After MONTHS of p******ing about different setting, Tutorials, These settings (Not the steam ones) Has worked wonders, Now bare in mind im not running a G2 but quest (Because money option) And budget was a thing, Im wondering if these two windows settings:

1)      Turn off HPET, this is a basic Hygiene function and can be applied safely to pretty much any Intel processor (though I personally found a number stability issues when using the other recommended perf improvement on thread separation, linked off that advice)

2)      Turn off Dynamic Ticks.

Was causing some issues as i had tried EVERYTHING until today, Im setting on full VR settings @72 fps and down low in the trees @ 36 to 45 fps. Because i tried absolutely everything to work.

quite possibly, HPET if enabled can be an absolute bugger.  either way I'm glad you are working now

Nope.  even the IC version...crashes my entire windows session when going on server...have to hard reboot.  Weird.  Possibly might be conflicting with discord/teamspeak/slack... not sure but I'm off it now 😞

Last time I used the IC version, it worked fine, it will take a long time to compile the shaders ... are you sure it’s hung, also check your page file size.

Not only was it hung but windows literally crashed.  Ctrl-Alt-Del would not even do anything.  It worked ok when I went on the server on my own with no one else flying but every time I tried with others it crashed.  Shaders were compiled from when I connected on my own and did not take that long to be honest.

So the shaders will compile for each aircraft/ vehicle /object and terrain  tat it has not seen before... so if you are joining a multiplayer server that lets you fly any jet... it can take a while.

as I said works fine for me.

very odd experience then if you can connect, then it’s not the shaders per-say, though it could be related... I have no way of replicating it though.

i dont have the right hardware for resizable BAR, you need at least a z470 or z570 MB

My Z390 Aorus ultra MB came out with a BAR BIOS in early Jan.  I installed it about a month ago.  I've just been awaiting the GPU bios and driver updates.  Both of which are out.  So I might try it.  Was thinking of waiting a couple of days first.  🙂

its a two part thing; you need the firmware update for your BIOS for you MB as well, but i believe they are only applying BAR to z4xx and z5xx motherboards

Interesting, I do have a BIOS on my Z390 for reBAR support.  As you say, BAR may actually only work via the Z4xx & Z5xx MB's.  If I get daring in the next day or two, I may try just to see if I get anything.  In my MB BIOS screen, I do see the ability to enable it.

edit: have seen some threads where is says 10th and 11th gen CPU's needed.  So that would take me out of it.  🙂    Ah, regardless.  I'm having a good time with my 3090, and these thread post settings listed here...

It will have no effect in DCS. While you need to enable it at the system level, nvidia drivers qualify each game individually for rebar and if the game loses performance with it enabled, it's not turned on in the driver. I doubt DCS has been qualified for rebar support so don't expect any changes.

Any change you do notice will be placebo at best.

My ASUS PRIME X570 PRO MB supports resizable BAR and ASUS have literally posted their NVIDIA Resizable BAR flashing tool for my 3090 in the last hour. I may give it a go tomorrow if I get the time. Any other AMD owners tried it yet ?

for what it's worth, BAR is now enabled on my rig.  My MB already was at a firmware level that supports BAR.  I just did the nVidia driver update, and the 3090FE firmware update too.

Same here. The MSI BIOS update was hidden away in Dragon Center. They didn't make it available separately. Of course, the first thing I did afterwards, was uninstall DC!

So, I updated the ASUS Z590-F BIOS, the nVidia driver and the 3090 BIOS and all is now good to go.

So, all we have to do is wait to see if ED will make DCS compatible. For now, I'll try it out on Death Stranding and RDR2.

It has nothing to do with ED. Each game is validated by Nvidia themselves manually.
