ac5
Many ILS beacons are non-active or non-existent in the Persian Gulf map: Abu Dhabi: none listed, none active. ? Dubai International: 12 not active, 30 OK Sharjah: 12 not active, 30 OK Al Minhad: 09 not active, 27 OK Al Maktotum: 09 not active, 27 OK Why is this? Is not this map supposed to be “finished”? Tested this with both the A-10II and the F-16. razo+r
Don't they turn the ILS on/off depending on which runway is currently active? If so, have you tried with different winds forcing different runways as active?
ac5
I did not try with the wind, but I did try with active (given trough the ATC) runways, to no avail. And even then, why is Abu Dhabi international: none listed, none active. ? Tested this with both the A-10II and the F-16. 2.5.6 updated the PG ILS's file, unfortunately many (most?) of the new additions didn't work (some weren't valid ILS frequencies). It was reported in March but having a working ILS in a "combat simulator" seemed to have a low priority. Note: The PG Beacons.lua was updated 17th Dec, so I'm re-testing what is/isn't working. ac5
Thanks. And moreover many PG bases, even military ones, do not have tacans.... JeffreyC
Even some that seem to work, only work partly. For example Al Dhafra AFB runway 13 the localize is reversed and glide-scope doesn't work.
tflash
Same here ! Too bad, current combat operations are heavily intertwined with civilian traffic so ILS should work, and should be a priority since eg in situations where you have two parallell runways often IFR rules always apply for safe separation and this requires ILS. tflash
Maybe add that Dubai Runway 12L doesn't have active ILS regardless of the wind, You should use runway 30R to land, as the radio correctly indicates. Maybe it's because they always want to take off over the sea? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
